Peter validates Paul
Of course he does!!! Him, "peter" and "james" speak of the same "Parousia" as Jesus did. :)

2 Peter 3:4 and saying, `Where is the promise of the ParousiaV <3952>of Him?for from which the fathers were-reposed, all/panta <3956> these is continuing from beginning of creation;'

1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may confirms your hearts, faultless in holiness, before our God and Father, in the Parousia <3952>of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

James 5:8 be ye patient!, also ye stand-fast/sthrixate <4741> the hearts/kardiaV <2588> of ye, that the Parousia <3952> of the Lord has-neared/hggiken <1448> ; [MATTHEW 24]

Im so glad I dont get to hear half the stuff brought to the ears of others.

Why post what others say planting their seeds of doubt and how they have twisted a thing?
That is what Apologetics is all about. In my view, the Roman Church is not much different than Islam as both focus on the "mary, virgin birth and peter" of the Bible.
This should rather strengthen others as we must first "know our enemy" before we can "confront them".

Anyway, sorry if that post offended you, but I believe more Christ-ians need to look at sites like that.

Have you seen how fast Islam is spreading? I wonder if I am allowed to post the PM I got from a Muslim if I don't mention his name. :D

Im not offended, but I never know what your talking about with Muslims and all these other groups, heck I didnt even know there was so many Christian groups and didnt know I was what was considered a protestant till I was informed here.

I havent any knowledge or interest in groups of peoples religion, their names, beliefs at all Lamb. Thats just a fact about me and there cant be anything more disinteresting to me. So when you post on those things constantly bringing up "certain groups" I often cant respond because I dont know them or what they believe. I do not ask because its just not my cup tea in desiring to know. It apparently means something to you (this is obvious me) but not to me at all. But your posts divert to them all of the time . Believe you me if I cared I'd go to their webites to find out more about them but I dont go cause I dont care lol I stand outside it all and look at the whole thing as a ball of mass confusion.

The less I know the better:p

 I understand FiYa!!! The LORD has just led me on a certain path and it is not for everyone.
I have been debating with Jews, Muslims, Atheists for over 3 yrs so there is nothing new that can brought up by different Christ-ian groups that I don't know about.
I do love you Spirit filled posts and hope more of CHRIST-ianity gets into that same type of SPirituality IN CHRIST instead of the "IN MEN" carnality.
Peace. :groupray:

FYI, Muslims do not acknowledge the words of the Apostles.

Which is why they do not understand the words of Jesus..
They only read the words of Jesus and do not have context.
Also they do not acknowledge the Apostles...
If they did they would have to acknowledge what they taught.

Well, debating a Muslim for 2 years gave me that insight...
BTW, the 'Muslim is spreading' propoganda does not match statistics... but at least that is what I have read.

In Africa, 6 million Muslims per year leave the religion for Christianity.

I don't use the Aramic. If the greek is wrong, then the whole NT is in error, and one might as well just chunk it. :)

http://www.scripture4all.org/

Revelation 6:16 and They say to the mountains and to the ROCKS/petraiV <4073>, ` Be Falling upon Us, and hide us from the Face of Him who is sitting upon the Throne, and from the Wrath of the Lamb-kin,' [Hosea 10:8 Luke 23:30]

Matthew originally wrote in Aramaic, and then translated it to Greek...I think some ten years later.
Matthew was also the first to pen the Gospel aproximately after the Resurrection.

It would seem that Greek became the more popular prose.

Well, you don't have to...but Jesus did!
Not.

Jesus has nothing to do with lies, fraud and idol worship.

Interesting.
Didn't Jesus preach in the synagogues?
Have you ever seen a synagogue in those times?

Filled with icons... and such.
Are you calling Jesus an idol worshipper?

It defames the doctrines.
It doesn't change or destroy them, but it changes & destroys an unbeliever's confidence in them.
And how ludicrous does it seem to assert God can protect His word, but not the men He supposedly put in charge over it, from their own lust & vanity?

And isnt that up to the Lord to take care of them later, as sinners, at their judgement?

Didnt he instruct the ppl to listen to the Pharisees [On the Chair of Moses] and follow what they taught, but not follow the same sins aka what they do?

Didnt Jesus also say that to those who were given much, much they would be judged for?

Basically...
WE are to obey the doctrines of the Church...
But if a shepherd is sinful, we still follow them...but we do not imitate their sinfulness.

DID Jesus tell the crowd that the sinners should be ignored...?
OR did He tell them to obey them anyway?

See, there is your answer. He said to OBEY them anyway!

Matthew 23

1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples, 2 Saying: The scribes and the Pharisees have sitten on the chair of Moses. 3 All things therefore whatsoever they shall say to you, observe and do: but according to their works do ye not; for they say, and do not.

I hadn't heard it read like that, but I can sense a brag as plausible.
You know, it occurs to me that tho all scripture carries divine weight, the words of Jesus may be most revealing.
That puts a perspective on the words of the Apostles.
Paul had personality issues different & probably more intense than Peter's, considering Paul's resume'.
Paul clashed with Barnabus at one point...

It might be interesting to look at a character developement study in the Gospel narrative.
I've seen how much being tutored on some of the Hebrew idioms & expressions can give insight to how much depth there is in it.

He called the Pharisees blind

Luke 6:39 he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

Mat 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

I dont think Jesus is advocating being led by a hypocrit just if you run into one who says the right thing do it but certainly dont follow their examples.

I can find a pharisee practically anywheres^_^

Being blind means only that they could not see Jesus as the Messiah.

But again, Jesus did NOT advocate disobeying them.

Did He?

That is the question that was at hand.

The answer is as it was then...
If a leader is a sinner, blind, stupid, etc.. you must follow the doctrines they preach, but do not become LIKE them.

The Pharisees were in for the prestige and power...
Popes [Peter to start and henceforth] do have an authority to maintain...
Meantime, most Popes [not all] were and are suffering for Christ.

Look at their lives. Lonely. They never marry or have children... they live for God. Whom they [not usually] do not see. [Although some Popes saw Jesus]
Nevertheless... Popes are often disparaged, disobeyed, ignored, insulted [see this thread] and their lives are not ideal.

In fact, many a Cardinal fears becoming a Pope. Not an enviable position, because the higher the prelate, the more one is judged on knowing. :holy:

Imagine being a sinner...[as we all are] and having to be more strict on yourself than the average bear.

Now, not all Popes managed that...straight line to walk, but their judgement is between themselves and God.

So long as they profess the doctrines of the CHURCH then we follow.
NOTE; doctrines of the Church, not something they make up.

SO many things ppl do not understand about Catholicism. :sigh:

WA this doesnt ever come down in my mind to "the Catholic church" I dont even give that a thought when I read the scriptures. I just look at the verses but I dont stick a particular church in the center of my thoughts, you are doing that sis^_^

If the blind lead the blind wont they fall into the ditch? He was implying yeah they both will. The disciples themselves transgressed the tradition of the elders, Jesus didnt say obey them in that especially when they set aside the commanment of God to hold to their tradition. The disciples got no reprimand but they did. He did say "leave them alone" if the blind lead the blind they will both fall in the pit.

Theres way too many churches in line wanting to be my authority ^_^ so many that they must get in line and wait their turn to be examined.

I'll be dead before the interviewing line reaches its end.

:D Remember the Pied Piper? I am still trying to squeeze into that "cramped gate" where I know my Shepherd is trying to lead me to.

Matt 7:13 "Into-come thru the cramped gate. That broad/plateia <4116> the Gate, and spacious the WAY the one leading-away/ into the Destruction, and many are the ones into-coming thru her.
14 That cramped the gate and having been narrowed the WAY the one leading-away into the Life and few are the ones finding her

Reve 11:8 and the dead-bodies/ptwmata <4430>n of them upon the broadplace/plateiaV <4113> of the city/f, the Great, which is being called spiritually Sodom/n and Egypt/f where even/also the Lord of them was crucified

Matthew originally wrote in Aramaic, and then translated it to Greek...I think some ten years later.

Rome claims that to try to support it's false interpretation of Matthew 16:18, but there is no textural evidence whatsoever to support it.

But then, Rome is excellent at taking sheer speculation, and arguments from silence and making them "Divine revelation".
