I did not want to post this on the Beautiful Day thread.

On that thread just two days ago I spoke of my own two pets, Blondie and Panda Bear and posted pictures of them. Later that very night my Panda Bear started acting a little strangely.

YEsterday we called the Vet and took her to see him. They gave her an antibiotic and by early evening the Vet called us saying she seemed to be doing better, but was still not herself yet. He was to call us the next morning which was this morning. He called this morning and said she was much worse. We went to see her this afternoon, but she was still under the anesthetic and on an IV for dehydration. She has also been given a new antibiotic which the Vet hopes will help what seems to a problem in her brain.

We have very little hope now, but the Vet felt that we needed to give her another 24 hours to see if the new antiobiotic was going to help. They have not actually been able to make a definite diagnosis, in spite of blood tests and X-ray, so really only God knows.

My wife and I do not want to give her up, but we know that sooner or later the time will come. If this is the time we are prepared for the worst.

She's not a person. She's a border collie, a dog, but we love her. To my knowledge an animal's life is the few years spent here with nothing after that but a final return to the dust. We have tried to make her 10 years to date good ones. We are the only life she knows.

Dear Bro'

It is my hope, and indeed my belief
that I will see ALL of my family again
This includes, the many dogs I have raised and bade farewell to

I look forward to the day
they will all come running to greet me again
for such a day will be the first, of, so many reunions

I hope and will also pray
that you will have further time with your 'Panda Bear'
and, when the lord's will is otherwise,
that you will indeed be reunited with her
in our Lord's day
You, have been her Shepherd,
you have fed and nursed her
you have kept her safe
and hugged her with love in your heart
The love that she returned to you
just doesn't come from nowhere [?]
it was put there by our Lord

'A reason for everything and for everything a reason'

Pray for her Bro' we... will join with you

your Bro'

Thank you Dave for there is hope in your words. God never leaves us or forsakes us, so perhaps in this which you have said there is a hope for us. We know that if we endure to the end with God that He will not forsake us.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God." I Cor 2:9-10

Perhaps by His Spirit He has revealed this to you!

Thank you again Dave and may God continue to bless you as you walk with Him!

Amadeus. I too hope as Dave said, I will get to see my 4 footed family members when I wake in His presence. There is nothing definitive I have found in scripture to deter me from idea.

We lost my Shiz tzu of 14 years last year and although it was a blow to my wife and myself at the time I have come to realize that she is still with us, in our hearts and in our memories.

I pray for your family, that He pours out His peace upon your wife and your self.

That He will bless your puppy with the tender care and heal her as He see fit. Allow her sickness to be a witness opportunity for you.

Rest comfortable in his Love.

God Bless you

In God, all things are possible [?]
As God, created everything, dare we not also believe
that, all that we can imagine is, also possible
is it not our 'Faith in the Almighty'
that brings us the peace [of belief in His Love]

How can LOVE end.... forever ?
when, our Lord's love is infinite ?

Something ? ...survives

We as individuals
will become part of, the whole
of, that/ those, which/ whom
has/ have 'already' departed this world

As Springrain said a while ago
"If, I die, and there is no God WHO WILL CARE about it ?"

NOT I [for, one]

"If, I die, and my beliefs are founded in faith"
[of, the one true God]

If, I am blessed, with the Holy Spirit and God truly exists
then the remainder of my belief/ faith, in the 'word'
and my own witness
of, my time here
is testament to His Majesty
then indeed,
I will be face to face with my maker, when, comes that day

I couldnt wish for anything more marvelous
I wouldnt wish to be a non-believer
For, He, has been 'my rock' in many storms
and true to His word, has lifted-me
from these trials to enjoy His works here on earth
amen

'for everything a reason
and a reason for everything'

Christ tells us there will be no more tears or sorrow in heaven. I know that we animal lovers would be in tears were our beloved extended family not with us in His presence.

I pray for the recovery of your Collie. I pray for God's peace if our prayers are too late.

Hi, Amadeus!
I am sorry that your doggie is not doing well. Few years ago we lost our dog. Your pain is very understandable.
You said:
To my knowledge an animal's life is the few years spent here with nothing after that but a final return to the dust.
My take on this is the following:

In OT animals are called nephesh (souls in Hebrew, Strongs 05315).

GEN 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature05315 that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

In Gen 2:7 the same word nephesh is used when describing soul of man.

GEN 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul 05315

According to Apostle Paul, animals will have a spiritual resurrected body -If there is a natural body, there will be a spiritual body. And that applies to all creatures.
The context below is the resurrection of humans. It also implies quite strongly to resurrection of all creatures.

1CO 15:35 But someone may ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?" 36 How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39 All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. ...
1CO 15:42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

So this verse below presents our animals and birds and fish joining us in heaven.

RO 8:19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

Animals do not sin and need no salvation of souls as in the context of a sinner.
Yet they are called souls in the Bible.

They live, breathe, like, dislike, remember, forget, attach, practice faithfulness, understand, react, change attitudes and love. Yet, since they were under our domain, they joined us in our suffering here on Earth.

Christ came for us, and the animals will join us, ... just as it was in the beginning.

Be well,
Diana

How did things go today, Amadeus?
This morning was my wife time to be in the hospital as she is every 4th Thursday for a transfusion to temporarily enhance her compromised immune system, and so we were not at home to receive a call from the Vet. We called him, but only one of his assistants was available and very non-committal. So we said we would go to the animal clinic later when my wife was released and we did.

We went in and visited with Panda Bear one final time. She was much worse. The two Vets were not certain but believe that she has one or two strokes. She was alive, her reflexes worked, but she did not recognize us and all. She did not respond to our voices or our hands petting her. She was already lost to us and I couldn't stop the tears then and I cannot now as I write these words.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Rev 21:4

Now I am crying and I am sad for our loss, but God said sorrow and crying and pain will be gone. My hope is in Him and He along with His people which you all are is my comfort today.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Rom 8:28

So God let the tears flow and Thy will, not my will, be done!

When a close friend of mine died not too long ago, he left behind a note for me. It said, simply, "Remember when we were two people who did not know each other?"
And try as I may, I could not. Those times just didn't matter anymore.
So remember the times when you did know each other, you and your precious Panda Bear. Because I'm sure those are the times she remembered until the moment she left this earth.
