Not so Beautiful?

When a close friend of mine died not too long ago, he left behind a note for me. It said, simply, "Remember when we were two people who did not know each other?"
And try as I may, I could not. Those times just didn't matter anymore.
So remember the times when you did know each other, you and your precious Panda Bear. Because I'm sure those are the times she remembered until the moment she left this earth.

I know this Clairefish. She is not the first to leave us, just the most recent. I still have my grandparents and my parents and my other pets in my mind adn in my heart. My memories are good memories. It will be so with Panda Bear. Tomorrow my wife and I are going to the pound. Our Blondie was the first of our four most recent dogs to come to us is now the only one left. She is now 13 years old. She never had a litter of puppies, but has mothered all of our grandchildren and Panda Bear was closer than a natural sister to her. We are getting a puppy for Blondie to mother so she will not be lonely. I guess the puppy will be for my wife and I as well.

I am so very sorry to hear the sad news of Panda Bear. You are still very much in my thoughts and prayers. There are many dog lovers/owners here so I hope you will at times feel able to share and that maybe that will help ease your pain a little. As you said, you have treasured memories of your pets and your love for them stays with you in your heart.


I hope you get some comfort from looking for a new puppy. I know from your posts that the new puppy will have a wonderful, loving home.

My thanks to all here for kinds words and prayers. Panda Bear is gone to whatever place God has for her, but we now have young Rusty at 7 weeks to keep us and 13 year old Blondie company. God is good!

I did not want to post this on the Beautiful Day thread.

On that thread just two days ago I spoke of my own two pets, Blondie and Panda Bear and posted pictures of them. Later that very night my Panda Bear started acting a little strangely.

Yesterday we called the Vet and took her to see him.
My wife and I do not want to give her up, but we know that sooner or later the time will come. If this is the time we are prepared for the worst.

She's not a person. She's a border collie, a dog, but we love her. To my knowledge an animal's life is the few years spent here, with nothing after that but a final return to the dust. We have tried to make her 10 years to date good ones. We are the only life she knows.

But I did want to share something with you. From the Bible, you can learn that each Animal/'pet' does have a *soul* Given that, be comforted that whatever Kindness(es) you show... (not just to humans) but also even plants, are never in vain - For some day, *Panda bear* will JOYfully... greet you again of this you can be sure.

Also, I know of animals' Additional... abilities, that you might really be amazed over.

At any rate, I am glad that (from the pound) you rescued another precious friend.

And thank you Annie for your kind words. Because of what I already know about God and about His Word and some of the clues that you and other people have given me here I am also beginning to believe. If I survive this place and live with God through eternity my Panda Bear and others before her will be known to me again.
