I have a man who is King James Only and very adamant about this.
I question it and don't think that the King James Bible is the only 'correct' version.
Any one else or is this too controversial?

This is a controversial topic. Some say the KJV is the only correct translation, which is a misnomer, as no two languages as diverse as English and Koine Greek can be without translational problems.
No English Bible is perfect. The Bible is perfect in the autographs (original Greek writings), but there are minor transcriptional and translation errors in the KJV.
Bruce Metzger, noted biblical scholar, has written about these errors, and adamantly states these affect no significant theology.
If the KJV is the only correct Bible, then what did we do before 1611 when the KJV was written? Also, what about other languages? Is English the only perfect language for God's Word?
I have faith in the accuracy of the KJV, but I prefer other Bibles which I believe have corrected some of the problems the KJV had with manuscripts, and simply poor translations of minor words. But, as I said, no Bible is without these minor issues since the translation from Greek (NT only, of course) is difficult because of the vast differences between the languages.
THE KEY is to have patience with people who have beliefs like these, as they are not issues to split fellowship over. If someone prefers the KJV, then that is their choice.
In Him,
Dave
