  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

where is it that you think I am confused? Have you read the original post?
Ask Oprah what is with all the New Age Christ stuff, not me.
The point is that she is promoting a New Age Christ that is not Jesus of the bible, so again I ask just where is it that you think I am confused?
Can you provide quotes of Oprah referring to Obama as the "New Age Christ"?

Sure, but there is too much to write here and you should be checking out the sources anyway so I am going to give you two links where there is much more if you or others here really want to know. Or just Google 'Oprah and New Age Christ', you will get over 100,000 hits to choose from.

Click these:

hopefully everyone will catch on to what she is up to before she can do too much damage.
Perfect scenario for the 'Strong Delusion' sent by God just prior to the emergence of the Antichrist. A strong delusion and a falling away from the faith is just what Oprah is preaching ,while pushing Obama for president.
Very curious!

thanks to folks like you putting information like this out . . . i think a nice dent just might get put in it. when i caught bits and pieces of her show with those people who did "the secret" i just cringed. my sister and parents went for it hook, line, and sinker. there was a part in there where one of the commentators said something like, "you're your own god." now i know what it's all about . . . me, me, me. very narcissistic "belief."

I think it is important, but it wasn't addressed in the http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/oprah-fool.htm
link is can a person, after understanding the Gospel, choose a different spiritual path other than the fundamental Gospel path......and still get to heaven when they are resurrected? What if they see a problem/s with and within the Bible canon, yet they still believe in a supreme deity, and find a spiritual path that they feel is more suited to them? Would this be classified as a lack of faith thus making them ineligible for immortality by not getting to eat of the Tree of Life? (Rev.2:7)

Whether one likes it or not, this is one of the most basic teachings of the New Testament. Not if one never had the opportunity to hear and understand the Gospel (very, very, few of them will obtain eternal life by going a much more difficult way. Romans 2:14-16) but those who have the opportunity but reject it.

So? Oprah has some New Age beliefs - what's the big deal? She's entitled to believe what she wants to.
Are you kidding me?
And you are a senior member here?
Of course she is entitled to believe what she wants but she is also promoting her 'new age beliefs' to Christians here and everywhere.
You don't find a problem with her pushing a 'new Jesus' that is not the Jesus we all know here?
Gimme a break!

And she's entitled to do so. Just as you are entitled to promote your beliefs to whomever you want to.

You don't find a problem with her pushing a 'new Jesus' that is not the Jesus we all know here?

I may not agree with her beliefs but that's no reason why she can't express them. Ever heard of a thing called freedom of speech?

And quite frankly, if people are looking to Oprah for spiritual guidance then the problem is with them and not her.

In second Thessalonians 2:11 the Bible says," And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"

The 'cause' spoken
of here is the unbelief in the Word of God.

The Strong Delusion is coming; the strong delusion will be sent by God, and the strong delusion will be directed not only at those of the world that are lost in their sins, but specifically at all lukewarm, undecided, and corrupt Christians…

If a new age Christ is being ushered in and by some chance it happens to be the anti-christ spoken of in the bible, this should be a reason to rejoice; the word of God is true and the coming of the real christ would be near. If it is not the anti-christ then it is just another example of humans inventing their own God, a God as far separated from the actual God as possible. Here again is another reason to rejoice because it validates the word of God and sinful nature of people and their need to reject the true and living God.

If Oprah placed her backing behind Ron Paul, would that make Ron Paul the anti-christ?

no.
and I did not say that Obama is the antichrist.
I said that Oprah is promoting a new age christ at the same time she is promoting an apostate Muslim/converted Christian for president.
dangerous mix, that's all.
Happy Birthday, and a Blessed and Merry Christmas.

Perhaps we should be thankful that Oprah has come to admire a man who is not afraid to call Christ the Christ, and that her money will go to support a man who is Christian instead of blasting the man for accepting the money needed to fight those who do NOT believe in Christ.

As to the crack you made about Obama. SHAME ON YOU!
You should be praising God that this man has become a Christian! NOT condemning him because you think that he was once a Muslim.

ALL Christians, every single one of us, was at one time NOT a Christian.

How DARE you imply that what one did prior to knowing Christ makes them less a Christian TODAY when they ARE a Christian!

Beyond that, you are spreading a LIE, and bearing false witness is a SIN. You should ask God and the Senator to forgive you!

Robert Gibbs, spokesman for Senator Obama, in referring to the rumor that Obama attending a Muslim school said the following:

"All of the claims about Senator Obama's faith and education raised in the Insight Magazine story and repeated on Fox News are false. Senator Obama was raised in a secular household in Indonesia by his stepfather and mother. Obama's stepfater worked for a U.S. oil company, and sent his stepson to two years of Catholic school, as well as two years of public school. As Obama described it, "Without the money to go to the international school that most expatriate children attended, I went to local Indonesian schools and ran the streets with children of farmers, servants, tailors, and clerks. To be clear, Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ in Chicago. Furthermore, the Indonesian school Obama attended in Jakarta is a public school that is not and has nver been a Madrassa. These malicious, irresponsible charges are precisely the kind of politics the American people have grown tired of, and that Senator Obama is trying to change by focusing on bringing people together ot solve our common problems."

from that perspective, it is a reason to rejoice, and 'Look up, for our redemption draweth nigh'

My concern is for the 'fence sitters' at this time. Very dangerous not to know where you stand, for the strong delusion of God is coming, as promised.

You know -

Christ told a story once that most people call "The Good Samaritan".

In the story, the person that all the religious people looked down on was the person that Christ portrayed as the one who had pleased God.

I watch Oprah and I see the woman crediting God with amazing things. I see her doing the things Christ told people to do. I hear her talk of loving Christ.

I'm not sure why you would want someone to refuse her help.

I wouldn't refuse her help, but I would run like a big dog from her theology, and you should too.

I understand your misunderstanding.
I said nothing about Obama's Christianity other than he is a converted Christian, and that is a true statement.
I am not spreading a lie, or bearing false witness, I am asking this question and I will pull it from the op for you to see again.
this is the question/statement:

I find it hard to believe that no one, beside me, is not ranting about this unlikely duo and what is on their agenda. Does Obama know about the Course In Miracles, their New Age Christ, their New Age agenda?

If he 'does not' know about Oprah's involvement, and accepts her backing,
he is not fit to run.

If he 'does' know about Oprah's involvement, and accepts her backing,
he is not fit to run.

I stand by all I said.

I thought it was fairly obvious, I am talking about both!
She is mixing them, not me!
I'm just calling her on it.

Sounds more like you're falling for it.

Oprah is a celebrity endorsing a candidate... making her no different than any other famous person. If she brings her theology into it as a means of influencing you... whether you consider that theology to be good or bad... you should know better than to fall for that. Many a hypocrite has preached on the street corners to be heard of men... Jesus says they already have their reward. Why give them anything more?

I have no idea how you could come to the conclusion that I am falling for it, I am warning against it. Did you read the op?
My concern is for fence sitters that are not well grounded in their theology and may fall for this strong delusion. Remember the millions of people that she holds sway over.
