It would seem you and your dear parents get along real well.
And that you do indeed spend both quality and quantity time together.............Thought I would post it to bring home the importance of both quality and quantity time...
Thanks Cathy. :) I am really blessed because my mom and dad do like to spend time with me and we do a lot of things together. This was a great reminder for me though, because there are times when I'm not quite as eager to hang out with them as they'd like....

To Daffodilly:

We come from different countries with different cultures and norms. But, what I would like to share with you is something I have learned when I was your age.

It mattered what you choose, what you believe is important, what you think is right. It is in these formative years that a young lady like you, builds her foundation, principles, faith... As for me, growing in faith, having the support of your family, friends are key things to have a healthy spiritual life...

As it is somewhat a must to keep a very fit physical appearance in your years, spiritual health is the defining key. What is a fit/attractive body worth if your spirit is weak? Priorities change as you grow old, but one thing should never change in your list of priorities, your Number One Priority..and I believe that you know what that is (rather Who He is)... Keep it (rather Him) on the top of your list and all else will be added unto you, as the scripture says...
Thank you. :)

My advice for you at 16 ... always try to convince yourself that parent's aren't as weird/crazy as they seem!

And don't be in too much of a rush to get this:

:D Thanks, MN John!

The second bit might be easier than the first......

I know there are a lot of great verses out there.
I have a handful that I call My Life Verses.
They help remind who God is and how we are to treat each other.

:angel:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2 Peter 1:5-7

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,
because God has said,"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.
Hebrews 13:5

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.
And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
But when you are tempted,
He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Matthew 25:35-36

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Proverbs 3:5-7

:angel:

I too grew up with health issues.
And in a godly home. Praise God.

I just try to do my best with the talents the Lord has given me.
He knows our heart and what we are capable of doing.
I am comforted by that even if I struggle with wanting things different.

Continue to be the wonderful young lady you are.
You have a great foundation to build on. :hug: :hug: :hug:

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you:
Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought,
but rather think of yourself with sober judgment,
in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
Just as each of us has one body with many members,
and these members do not all have the same function,
so in Christ we who are many form one body,
and each member belongs to all the others.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.
If it is serving, let him serve;
if it is teaching, let him teach;
if it is encouraging, let him encourage;
if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously;
if it is leadership, let him govern diligently;
if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.
Honor one another above yourselves.

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.
Do not be conceited.
Romans 12:3-16

I'd love to participate in celebrating Jo's birthday!
(I'm ready for a screen shot, in the 'advise' category.)

Jo,
I've known you on the forums to be an exemplary young lady that truly knows God. My advice is to simply continue in His way. Solid foundations have been laid in your life, and they will sustain you always.

If you don't already, I encourage you to keep a journal of God's graciousness in your life... He'll keep the pages full! :)

Happy Sweet Sixteen, Sweetie!

My scripture for Daffodilly is........
Proverbs 3:3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
There was a time that kindness did not come easy for me and often my words and actions would be very hurtful and revengeful. I have learned to say what I mean without saying it mean giving me the ability to express myself, but to do it in a loving spirit. I knew the Lord wanted me to address the people in my life with kindness. I wanted this scripture to be around my neck, even like a choke-hold if needed so that I would remember the importance of kindness.

Truth is important as well because the truth will set us free. HIS TRUTH holds the solution to all the world's problems and integrating HIS TRUTH into our lives is a life changing experience that continues forward as we walk in HIS LIGHT!! Your relationships with others and yourself will be impacted in a powerful way.

Thank you so much Cathy. :hug:

He does know our hearts. Sometimes I forget that He's the only one I need to worry about pleasing, so this was a good reminder.

I'm printing each of the advice posts out and gluing them in my journal. :clap:

I'm very pleased to have your Life Verses, to put in there.
