I'll try again.
What's your point on the second one? If I thought Hausa were inferior, it wouldn't stop me from going to Niger.

"I owned thaumaturgy"
The joke is that the word 'owned' can be used to refer to the salve trade.

It basically parodies GCM's notion that palaeontologists are racist for calling a dinosaur Nigersaurus (lit. Lizard of Niger).

Oh, and GCM: you have yet to demonstrate the inherent racism in palaeontology.

I somehow don't think GCM has 'owned' Thaumaturgy in any sense of the word.

I think the paleontologists who post here have a case for reporting GCM for flaming, in stating "all paleontologists are racist".

This lovely newly discovered Niger animal, which I've read quite a bit about over the last few days, grazed most likely on mosses and horsetails, not grass, which has not been shown to be common in the period it lived. It has a very remarkable structure, extremely light weight in the skull bones, and with all the teeth normally present on the sides of the jaws moved entirely to the front. It also produced more teeth as the ones in use wore down.

I'm betting GCM's right on one point: it's most unlikely this critter 'believed' in anything, other than eating, defecating and mating, so it could technically be referred to as an 'atheist'.

Wait a sec: we have paleontologists on here?

What with MrBoo calling me a liar because he is too lazy to contact the alumni associations of 2 of the world's most prestigious universities and now this I am starting to feel persecuted:)

I just assumed GCM was an obvious troll and parody so thought it was pointless rising to the bait.

I mean no one is dumb enough to think that Nigersaurus is racist are they? I find it hard to believe that in this day an age people are unaware that there is both a river and a country called Niger and a country called Nigeria, I suppose those countries are racist as well:)

I once sent an email to Project Exploration saying "what is your stance on black people?" hey never wrote back, proving they have something to hide.

In fact, I think Sereno is a KKK ringleader. No evidence, just a personal theory of mine.

Actually, you should say it's just a personal hypothesis of yours (and a pretty unsubstantiated and ugly one at that). We're talking on a scientific board, so please use the terms correctly. Although seeing how far you have to go in understanding/using science anywhere near correctly, I'm not holding my breath.

Jordan Mallon and Brad McFeeters (Sinosauropteryx) are both in training as paleontologists, although they aren’t actually professionals yet.

I’m fairly sure that God Fearing Atheist is a professional paleontologist (he certainly knows enough to be one), but he hasn’t been around here much lately.

Atheistic Dinosaurs?

Did the dinos go extinct 'cause they were atheists?
I don't really think that this was their fault, after all, the Bible wasn't written in Saurian (at least not that Ive seen).

Cut em some slack...after all they had to face mass extinction, some of them got picked on for dressing like "dandies" (o yeah, you KNOW those unfeathered dinos were picking on the pretty feathered ones), being bossed around by the evil fallen angels*, and those poor TRexes getting their arms ripped off by Adam and company*, do you think you really need to get on their case for any atheism on their part? Didn't they suffer enough without your 65millionyeartoolate barbs?

:p
* I am not making these claims up. This is actual propoganda pushed forward by Christian Creationists.

I've seen worse. like Kent Hovind saying there was once an ice sheet on the upper atmosphere of Earth. Kirk Cameron saying that a banna disproves evolution and using a domesticated banna to show obvious design properties (he's entirely right it was designed BY MAN). The worst I have ever seen is someone saying that once in a while when you open a jar of peanut butter you would get life but no you never do so this disproves evolution.

I'm not stupid- I owned thaumaturgy.

How exactly did you do this? You suggested geology was atheistic, I pointed out that science, by necessity, must be silent on the topic of God and is inherently "a-theistic" in the most strict defintion.

It is hardly an "owning" (or pwning, if you will) of someone if you fail to disagree with them.

I was rather hoping you would flesh out your side of the discussion when I accepted it. But sadly apparently what you wanted was some sort of acquiescence on a point of subtlety it is highly unlikely you even grasp.

So, "own" away. Much as you would like.

If you can, however, defend the stance that science is somehow worse for it's inherent silence on God, then perhaps you should provide that.

I should think you couldn't do it even if you tried.

I believe you mean an ice crystal canopy. The banana story is that what one sees and imagines, doesn't prove something correct. Reality is still reality. And I've nerer seen a new specie in a jar of peanut butter.

Could you explain the difference between an ice sheet and an ice crystal canopy?

And I've never seen a new specie in a jar of peanut butter.

*phew* evolution is in good shape then. Because if you *had* seen a new species in a jar of peanut butter, evolution would be unwell.

Thanks for supporting it!

No you are wrong. The banana idiocy was put forth by Cameron and other fairy tale adherents to prove that god (specifically the Christian God) is the Creator of the Universe.
Of course, this argument is just as flawed and outright wrong as any other statement of Creationism.
And I've nerer seen a new specie in a jar of peanut butter.

And you never will, and you KNOW that the theory of evolution doesn't propose such a blatantly moronic scenario either.

All evolutionary theory is flawed and yet that is promoted and taught to children, simply because GOD is considered a dirty word among liberals...

Is there a Gospel of Paranoia, or is it some new Christian sect?
