CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

These "user notes" are a common vBulletin code hack. They were used for a short period of time a year or so ago, and I guess they've made a reappearance. Some people were putting some really stupid stuff (wrong stuff at that) in them, so they were discontinued.a dossier on every memberMcCarthy would be proud

You guys crack me up.
I currently have a good friend who is in jail in Sweden because he refused to let a woman preach in his pulpit. He does not know when he will get out or if he will get out and he has very limited contact with outsiders. He was hauled off in front of his family and his congregation while three women screamed epithets at him from a distance.
You guys can talk about persecution and oppression and censorship all you want, but what you fail to realize (whether by choice or not) is that you have the ability to WALK AWAY.
My friend doesn't have that opportunity. Remember that while you sit here and complain that you are the victims of some vast left-wing liberal conspiracy on the internet.

I'm really sorry about your friend.
That is absolutely horrible.
I do agree with nyj that no one here feels like we're dealing with the same sort of situation. This is a privately owned business and the owners and staff are under no obligation to provide any sort of freedoms or graces to anyone. And of course we can walk away. This is just a forum. Meaningless in many ways.
But I think it's more an issue of feeling like we're being pushed out via mind games, manipulation, and power plays. Not very "Christian", ya know? I don't expect it to get better. I only come around because I've got friends here and we haven't all found one new forum to migrate to.

Ya, if I wanted insults & sarcasm in opposition, I'd go back & join cc 
- I'd ask if anyone isn't a member, not to come here & start dialog like that - I came here to get away from this crap & here it follows me again.If YOU like the way things are (and most staff do becuz they're on the top), then stay over there & ignore our anger & displeasure here in a private area where we came to avoid this.
If anyone hasn't noticed, the boards are pretty much fading out everywhere - there were only less than 10% even active out of all the members in CC to begin with.
I'm also seeing the same thing in many other areas. So it isn't just "US" that are fed up with this site & the way it's being run (by either of the owners).
