If anyone else has advice, I think it would be useful. But here's what happened with one guy.
#1 He lied about his ethinicity
#2 He tried to put me on fast track the day before I was to cancel the first time and wouldn't answer the last set-of questions (understandable with closing).
I clicked deny b/c eHarmony offered and extension and I wanted to see his answer on his living situation (since he only answered 1-5yrs).
#3 He waited a whole nother week to answer the last set of questions before I was to cancel & answered "Later" to the question.
#4 His open communication intro was very blanket statement, nothing really special pertaining to what he had found out about me. He shared about how he got saved 9 years ago in North America, was born in Indonesia, Yemen and Latvia and then NOrth America. Came out of a Muslim family.
I gave him my email. I wrote one more corrispondance in open communication asking about his job - Aerospace Science and a little of my background information.
#5. No response for a week, I was kind of busy to follow-up. So I checked to see if he got the msg. He said he didn't and wanted my picture and phone number. Said he'd be in a location maybe 4 hours from me in a week through work and would like to meet. And not willing to travel out to where I am.
I emailed and said it was too fast and that I'd like to have an answer from him before we talk about that further and that it would be hard because of my job to meet outside a 30 mile radius. Also he could easily have printed off my information with all the photos I posted if he was as interested as he first said in our open communication. eHarmony is good about not allowing others to copy your pictures or save them from the sight. ANd my account was immedietly shut down when I had called in.
#6. He answered the email, very shortly. Seemed to complain that he had no picture or idea what I look like and that typing was very difficult for him because he can't speak English well. And wanted to talk by phone. His questions again were very vague, like what do you like to do...and so on. I had already communicated in the first open communication that I wasn't looking for exclusivity or something serious in the initial stages. His last email stated that he's Serious about this.
He had plenty of information from my emails and our corrispondance through eHarmony.
To me, too many Red Flags. Not even worth it.
If any of you have read the above post on the complaints, you'll see why I'm leary.
Sorry to go on, I just feel it's good to get the word out, for those that are specifically using eHarmony.
