Is it spiritual or physical?!

The New Testament teaches that the physical (bodily) resurrection is what all people who believe in Jesus, hope for. It is to be a body that is immortal to allow the person to have eternal life.

Ressurection can mean either. Christians usually mean a physical revival of the body, proceeding from a change in spiritual condition.

The Catechism proves the resurrection is physical or at least includes a physical resurrection:

ARTICLE 11
"I BELIEVE IN THE RESURRECTION OF THE BODY"

988 The Christian Creed - the profession of our faith in God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and in God's creative, saving, and sanctifying action - culminates in the proclamation of the resurrection of the dead on the last day and in life everlasting.

989 We firmly believe, and hence we hope that, just as Christ is truly risen from the dead and lives for ever, so after death the righteous will live for ever with the risen Christ and he will raise them up on the last day.

534 Our resurrection, like his own, will be the work of the Most Holy Trinity:
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit who dwells in you.535

990 The term "flesh" refers to man in his state of weakness and mortality. 536 The "resurrection of the flesh" (the literal formulation of the Apostles' Creed) means not only that the immortal soul will live on after death, but that even our "mortal body" will come to life again.537

991 Belief in the resurrection of the dead has been an essential element of the Christian faith from its beginnings. "The confidence of Christians is the resurrection of the dead; believing this we live."538
How can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised; if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. . . . But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.539

Can God put them back together if they were in a nuclear blast like Hiroshima?

So after a person dies their molecules get mixed up in the soil or if they got eaten by a shark and the shark got eaten by a person then died, the molecules of the first person would be in the second person  so when they both got resurrected :holy: they would share some of their bodies

Hardly. God isn't some mythical entity that exists within reality; He's more than reality and reality (as we know it) exists within Him. God is truth: He's the underlying Principle that governs all things. It itsn't much of a stretch to assume that the source of life can recreate it.

Resurrection is not quite the same thing as resuscitation. the individual cells of your body are not the same even through the course of your life- they grow, die, pass in and out of your system, mingle with the food you eat and the oxygen you pump in, etc. In the resurrection then, nothing is promised about the maintenance of your former physical body- just that you will have one and it will be yours.

Modern science to interpolate something plausible to us between the few statements the Bible makes about resurrection.

I think that's cool; I like your explanation.

I've thought about one day being able to do it in real life. When someone is fairly old their memory gets copied into a small robot that goes around doing the gardening or whatever healthy retired people like to do, play bridge, drink iced tea, so the person has a new body.

Whad'ya think? Would you like to start the 'New Life' company with me?

Ah, no thanks- I'd rather make the most of the one I have for as long as I have it, and leave the rest to my maker.

This is always on the minds of people when the Bodily Resurrection is talked about. It is a legitimate argument. If our body has been destroyed and dispersed, then God would have to first recreate it in order to give it immortality.

There was a parable attributed to St. Augustine concerning the resurrection of the body, wherein it was proposed that if a lion mauled you and took your arm, but did not then kill you, upon the Resurrection the lion would return to you, disgorge the arm, which would then reattach itself.

Resurrection in the body is a Western Christian position. The Eastern Orthodox position is slightly different. The positions of various karmic religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism also have different mechanisms for "resurrection."

Peace

That's like asking if God can create Life, teh Universe, and Everything..... 42 my hind end..... (See "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" for the number reference.)

If someone gets brain damage, maybe a stroke, does that mean part of their soul is in heaven and part on Earth?

Neither. The soul cannot be split apart like that. The mind is not the soul, although the soul is what makes you you. The mind is merely a CPU that stores information. Well, not as simple as that, of course, but still. So if someone were still alive after a stroke, their soul would be on Earth.

What is the soul?

[I've h
eard that the soul is the person without: the physical body, mind, physical desires, genetic dispositions, nasty memories, brain or limited brain power, incomplete knowledge, and emotions (I guess the person meant impatience, envy, hot temper, all those chemical emotions)]

The soul is the spark of consciousness that separates us from the animals.
Now we've got problems. It just raises further questions about what you mean by "spark of conciousness". If by "conciousness" you mean awareness or even self-awareness, then we are not separated from the animals, some of which have been shown to be self-aware.

Furthermore, if someone is rendered "unconscious" (by, for example, anaesthesia) or is in a coma, or in a vegetative state, etc. , what happens to their soul?

It isn't coincidence that we're the only species to come so far in technological gains, and whatnot.
Or maybe it's because we're the species with the largest brain to body mass ratio.
