  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I saw some of the new pics for that game. AW-AW-AWESOME!!!

But it's kinda dumb that people ONLY play use map settings maps anymore online, or maps that are made to play fast or whatever. USER made maps, that don't resemble good maps. LOL, I mean stuff like Zero Clutter and whatnot. Blech.

But I DO like Hero Wars, this one Use Map Settings map. It's fun to upgrade to like over 70 on weapons for a goliath.

If you don't know the answer, then you aren't a true Starcraft geek.

That's OK, I never said I was. I played online for a few years, with a friend and others, but I don't claim to be a true SC geek.

Starcraft is MUCH bigger in South Korea than anywhere else in the world. So much so, that Blizzard (the company responsible for Starcraft) decided to officially unveil Starcraft to in Korea.

I've been there to see it. I spend a year living in Korea. There are large internet cafes on nearly every block, often more than one. They are constantly full of people. Not boring people surfing the net and checking their email for 15 minutes like I would be, but people playing online games like Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Lineage I and II, Maple Story, Kart racing games, and many more, for hours on end, 24 hours a day. They sit in those PC rooms playing these games, and drinking coffee, smoking and eating cup noodles. To top it all off, they are FREE. There are NO monthly fees to play these games in Korea. The only fee they pay is around US$1 an hour to play. Cup noodles cost between US$1-2, and coffee, soft drinks, tea, etc. costs between US$.50-$1.00. You can bring alcohol in if you like, because Korea doesn't have hardcore drinking laws like many western countries.

Thanks for that info about the popularity of gaming and Internet cafes in Korea.
