Favorite Guitarists?

Well ME for one. I am the only guitarist that play what I want. Dimebag was a true genius on the guitar but I have to say the guitarists from alice in chains would be my fave.

Jimi Hendrix and Keith Richards both played with a lot of feel. They never hit a note that sounded out of place.

Lots of other guitarists have more skills, but few have that kind of quality.

John Petrucci- Dream Theater guitarrist. One AMAZING guitar player. I absolutely love his sounds.

Kirk Hammett-Metallica guitarrist. Awesome =)

Zakk Wylde- Great guitarrist. Love his instructional videos where after every lesson, you see him drinking beer. LOL

Circuit V. Panther- From Sex Machineguns. Crazy fast guitarrist

Joe Satriani- He taught Kirk Hammett. I love watching him play because he seems to enjoy his music ^^.

Dimebag Darrell- Pantera's extraordinary shredder.

Generally I think these guys are great guitarists:

*mr. Frusciante of the RHCP

*Mark Knopfler

*Eric Clapton (but I don't really like a lot of his songs)

*Either Kirk Hammett or James Hetfield from Metallica, a couple of months ago I would have said Hammett, but I'm shifting towards Hetfield for his riffs that really make up the songwriting (and he has some nice solos as well).

*One of the guitarists of the Scorpions is pretty good (don't know his name though)

*And finally, guys like John Mayer show a lot of potential on certain songs...

As far as John Mayer...I was able to see him in concert and he just blows me away...I think he holds back way too much on his albums. If he would let go on his album like he does live people would see the amazing talent and ability he has.

Dimebag is EXTREMELY overrated.
