• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you could change on thing...

If you could change one thing about yourself (physically, personality, intellecutally, etc) what would it be and why?

how much i at times worry. i would have a lot of less stress in my life if i could just learn to relax, believe what others' say to me. it's a process...i'm getting there but no where close yet. which mean i may need to simmer my pride down as well.

And I guess that could be the next question for all of us...

What is your plan to start changing the one thing that you want to change??? What steps could you take today to start making a change?

I would change my self-confidence.

I need to keep reminding myself that God brings me to each situation in my life, so I need to remember that He will bring me through it, too. He will equip me with what I need to succeed.

I put way too much pressure on myself and in the end I typically find that it was unnecessary pressure. I'm intelligent, I'm resourceful, and I am ambitious - I should probably make that my mantra. :p

I totally know what you are talking about...

I put way more pressure on myself than I would ever put on someone else. It's interesting how some of us expect ourselves to be perfect but we are so accepting and understanding of other people and their shortcomings....I wonder why it is that we can accept ourselves the same way?

I know why I am harder on myself than on others, but I can't seem to completely change it about myself. Therein lies the challenge to accept myself flaws and all - rather than only accepting myself once I'm perfect (which won't happen until I'm dead and truly re-born in Christ).

I guess it depends on how you mean, If you mean like magically just nod your head and something is changed or work at changing it.

I would not change anything magically, but I'm working on myself in other ways :) like trying to become more physically fit.

I'd want to be born without a disability.

That alone seems to be the source of my envy, lack of self esteem, depression, ect.
I'm with you about the disability sometimes. But at the same time....I realize I wouldn't be the same person who I am...if I was "normal". But i understand completely about all the self esteem, envy of "normals", etc. It's hard....but God has a reason for it/allowing it.

That's hard a question. I think I would change my personality to be less senestive and more outgoing/manly/jock like.

I would love for once in my life to be able to stick to a diet & exercise program that allowed me to be healthy. I have always been the "fat kid." As to how I can accomplish that...I wish I knew. I have tried everything numerous times. I have lost 1000's of lbs only to gain them back again.
