I like how these "moods" are now as apathetic as the forum's new title is. Non-controversial. Politically correct. How impressive. Do you not understand what is the real battle at hand? To any christians here that are not disturbed with taking Christ out of the equation, I really question your allegiance. How can a world, even if it is an online one, be better with Jesus out of the picture?

I'd like my post not to be seen as bashing. It's just that putting up new Moodies while the whole place is in an upheaval is a little like putting lipstick on a pig.

But, it seems that people do take this graphical stuff seriously... so, despite the name change, I will continue to refer to this as the ChristianFluff board.

Actually, I misspoke (or misposted). It doesn't say "Angel", it says "Angelic", and as a prayerful messenger of God I find it may not be such a bad substitute.

And whereas a mood icon may not be a priority of mine either, we still each have posted here in the announcement about it.

The variety of mood options is probably just whatever came with the package of something offered in the area of Erwin's proven expertise.

I'm not a big fan of how the site has been managed and administered, and I've got some true horror stories of some of the things done here. And it's not a matter of just about what's been done to me. I've had to help clean up after suicides connected to CF, and that was under the old system in place when I arrived 3 years ago, so I try to keep it all in perspective.

The opportunities here are as great as ever, even if I'd like to see things as different and 'better' as many, many others. Jesus didn't proclaim his Father's Kingdom by some legalistic overthrow of either Rome or the Temple. Like John the Baptist he went to the wilderness and he went to the people, and preached repentance, godliness, and love. Sure, he was very critical of the religious leaders with whom he disagreed, but he didn't disrupt Temple services or try to cheat a man out of what belongs to him.

Erwin will answer for his 'ministry' as surely as will each of us. I may or may not stick around to help support him in ministering what is essentially his under God. But the opportunity here is still great, and I'm at least thankful Erwin hasn't fully unleashed a justifiable icon of wrath and swept the whole thing away into the garbage heap, as is his right.

I'm just sayin'.

Thank you, Erwin, for at least trying to fix what has clearly been broken for some time. I'd have done some things differently, but so would each of us according to what we found 'right' in our eyes. Sure, I may or may not be pleased enough with the result to stick around, but thanks for making the mood more demonstrative of what is in each of our hearts. It continues to reveal quite a lot in so many ways. Would that each of us were the best icon of Christ we can be, and my prayers will be toward that end. LORD knows I've failed at it as much as anyone else.

Honestly you must spend more time in the bashing threads than I do because I don't spend time bashing. I have been trying to ride out this ridiculous process quietly. But today when I posted I found that the moods had changed leaving me with an error icon in my posts. I came here to see why and found that it had been removed while negative moods were added so I spoke my disappointment. I thought that's what this thread was for.

Please understand it's not the mood icons I care about, it's the removal of faith items in lieu of sin items that I disdain. Had the work not been done so poorly I might not have noticed at all.

I work for a software developer so please understand that I'm not used to such poor quality deployments of code changes. Erwin can do what he wants obviously but the least he could do is to do it well.

I see so many here with negative attitudes regarding the changes. I was upset at first too (VERY upset), but this is getting rather ridiculous, IMHO. I wish people could just work together and calm down just a little. All of this hostility is NOT Christ-like at all.

Expressing one's opinion is one thing (even anger is good to vent), but the level of sarcasm I've seen is quite over the top! (Oh, and I'm praying for those who are exhibiting this type of behavior as well...).

There is no reason why even with the name change we can't emphasize the fact that we are a Christian Community...
