  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your views on illegal immigration...

Border do more harm than good. If we would only come together as one people, the human race, and not care about borders... I will never understand how we get the privilege to all these things because we were lucky enough to be born here, yet some just across the border has to wait years, and pay much money to be let in here. Remember, in time, nations will fall, borders will be erased, and there will be only Christ's kingdom left. Why can't we as christians, try to usher in that kingdom now (the kingdom is at hand right?) ? Isn't it our responsibility to help those people. I don't think Christ would have sent an arab away just because they were not Israel. He would have feed, and housed him,and gave him clothes to wear. Yet we are to stingy to even feed babies, because their parents are "illegal". Actions can be determined to be illegal or legal, but not people.

And that is how the One World Gov't of the End Times is ushered in.

You also must not live in a border state.

I am in agreement.

I have lived near the border (well, near enough if Corpus Christi area counts).. and all over (including two other foreign countries) and I have to disagree.

The governments are put in place by G-d, and unless the laws disagree with His word, we are to obey the laws set in place (This is in Scripture!).

Now that being said, I do not turn away someone hungry... even if illegally in the country. However, we have a lot more hungry people who are legal citizens who are not getting enough attention, especially the children.. in our own back yard.

There are reasons there are fees. Other people have to feed their children too, and we have to ensure they have the proper training and background to do the research and help people get set up in the country they wish to take residence in.

Also, you have to run background checks. . . those take time and cooperation with the country of origin... not to mention other people who have family and mouths to feed, and have to have proper training.

You would be suprised what all is involved.

If people would get training in their jobs or go to university, they would have a slightly easier time coming in legally, if nothing else, on work visas; and then apply to legally stay.

Going around the laws are still breaking the laws.

Exactly, I have no issue with legal immigration at all. Obeying the law and contributing back to the welfare of the new country says much.

However, seeing the strain it is one the legal and native residents of the country on a local and state level, it's not right and very illegal.

My property tax, sales tax, and income tax SHOULD NOT go to keeping an illegal in this country. My social security, medicade or care, and welfare SHOULD NOT be given over to illegals where some run over the border to have children just so they can steal my benefits which my tax money pays for.

That is how some people would interpret scripture. I do not. That line of thought tells us that the antichrist will rule with peace for while, so should we just abandon peace? I think not. Blessed are the peacemakers, christ said. Live today, not tomorrow. What happens in the end, happens. We have a chance to change lives NOW. That is what is most important. Christ talked about eternity beginning now, the kingdom is at hand. We are to be doing his work wherever, whenever, for whoever.

No I live in Southern Illinois, around a bunch of extreme conservatives, with much of the same opinion of you and other posting on here on this subject. I know what the word says, and i know what people say, and i see how they are different, and I know that i have to work to help change that mind set.

wow this thread is timely, my congress woman just sent me an e-mail and it was a survey on what to do about immigration reform/amensty.
I said deport all them that are not suppose to be here no exceptions, secure the boarders without amensty/ reform and follow the laws already in place not make new ones, and make english the official language. I encourage those who want to, to e-mail your reps daily when this debate starts in again in september and state what you want but be nice about it.

When that asinine bill tried to be bullied thru Congress and the Senate, I wrote both of my reps.

I am fortunate enough to live in a state where they understand the negative issues and consequences we are facing if such a bill would be pushed through.

Zilam,

I think you may understand the frustrations of many of the posters on this issue the first time you are sitting in the emergency room with your baby wondering how you are going to pay this bill because yours or your spouse's insurance doesn't cover this or that and watch a man or woman come in who does not speak English and can produce no id or proof of anything and get seen. Knowing that will never impact that individual's life---free health care. while you are holding a sick crying baby just not sure how you are going to make it..then you'll understand. You have not had the life experiences many of us here has had. When it begins to effect you personally, I believe your opinion will change, just as mine did.

God Bless.

I am so sorry you have had to deal with that.

I have seen it too many times and each time it angers me to no end.

I base all my opinions on the way that Christ lived his life. He didn't go about saying "oh you are from samaria, no healing for you" or anything to that extent. If we had free health care and spent money on our systems, instead of giving it the bare minimal amount of money, then you wouldn't have to have these problems.

Sadly, as long as we are giving all these bennies to illegal aliens who are de facto breaking our laws, we can't give health care to InHisSpirit's children who are legal citizens of the USA. Do you see the difference?

The USA should and does send aid to Mexico. That's where those who are in our country illegally should pick up help from the USA, not here.

as the situation itself.

Yes, U.S. resources should not be so much at their disposal. Nevermind, making more available.

However, some levels of amnesty (NOT allout amnesty) will be necessary, given the situation, as it stands.

The main perogative now is to tighten security so that the problem cannot progress.

And NO, noone in a Godly sense can condemn these people for making efforts to better their lives...politically, maybe...but not by any Godly reasoning.

AND I'LL THROW THESE TWO CENTS IN
JUST FOR HAHAs

When you see these Latino people on the side of the freeway or intersections...their vending...trying to earn an honest buck.

When you see those of the other presuasions on the side of the freeway or intersections, what is it they have in their hands? oh, yeah...a sign.
