You can't know where you are going if you don't know where you've been... or to put it another way... those who will not learn from history are destined to repeat it...How has this thread gotten to the topic of racism? Man, we Adventists want to argue about everything.
I also love black worship services that are rousing and celebratory. At least you know they are alive. 
What happened to the place of love and fellowship we had a month or two ago? Satan has really worked his way into our group. So much arguing!!! This is beyond even just the simple defensive debting that emerged between the progressives and traditionals before, from what I've seen.
He decided his own ideals were more important and better than God's. Now, considering we have a sinful nature which originates from him..it's not to surprising that this would be one of our main downfalls.

How did this go onto racism? I was gone about 24 hours and there's 3 new pages to this thread, debating some stuff that happened way in the past..and about racism..and completely unrelated topics..
Look, guys. I started this thread to express my feelings..and how truely sad I am to see what's going on here right now. And all this has become is a place where the arguing has continued.
To be completely honest, the way things are going..I might just leave the SDA area for awhile. I don't know. I want to help, and I love all you guys here..But this isn't Godly or constructive half of the time anymore. At least untill you guys sort it all out, anyway. Right now we're heading down a road that might force a split.
Sigh. Anyway. If we don't get back onto subject (or at least change the negative direction this thread is in right now) I'll probably get it closed. It's not going anywhere good at the moment.

We all need to get things out of our system sometimes, and I know that it was not your intention when the split was origionally brought up for all of this to happen. Things seem to be looking up a bit at the moment, so maybe the storm is passing.. Forgot to mention it in my email earlier. Lemme know! I know this might sound strange, but my mom and I love playing an Nintendo game called Animal Crossing..and one of the characters on it is a grey goat called "Sven". *lol* Now that's all I can think of when I think of you.

Very true. There's a level of defensiveness people gain when they are confronted with conflicting views on a subject that is so important to them, too. Which can cause the debate and arguing.

...Martin Luthur King said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." and as long as we continue to classify ourselves based upon color, or even 'origin', racism will continue because it derives it's 'sustenance' from the 'inclusion/exclusion' of identity. until we realize that this country was intended for each American to have the Bill of Rights under one arm and a Bible under the other, we're never gonna see the same dream Martin envisioned was the same which the Founding Fathers founded. as with any country, it is born and then matures. both stages being painful, but what made the sacrifices endurable was the visions of those before us and the dreams we have today. and if we are to be that Nation of Providence, then We The People have got to rid ourselves of the hate which separates us, then individually love as Christ taught; "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works." as long as we choose to classify ourselves according to 'color or hyphenated' race then Martin's dream will never be more than an idea, rather than the ideal.
