I have said that there is a soul hanging in the balance right now. There is one person who has contributed greatly to New CF. I have posted a link. This person is an atheist who is now sporting a title that says, "I was a stranger and you took me in", and a signature that speaks of Christianity going into the darkest and neediest places. The seed has been planted because this person has been working side by side with Christians. When I told of this before, it was stated that there were more important things than "just" one soul. That is what I weep over.

I was talking about many single souls seeking a community that has something to offer them other than a large deal of relativism. As I've stated in the past, I have absolutely no problem with open forums.

NCR had many reports for "promoting religions" because posting any kind of site that claimed to represent their beliefs in response to a question about their beliefs was considered "promotion of religion"

I think that standard was highly flawed, don't you?

so, how do we get those who "faith was weak to begin with" from entering NCR or those other debate areas? are we gonna police the area making sure new belivers dont enter?

All you have to do is gain access to the old reports. search NCR and see that 99.9% of those reported were for promoting of other religions. its there in black and white. this isnt opinion-it is fact backed up by records.

It is about having faith in God and about freewill rather than policing anyone or anything. We all do our level best to protect those babes. After that, it is in God's hands. Those same babes are in the real world too you know, and while they may claim it was an atheists logic that caused their de-conversion, it very well may be that it was something else and it is only a convenient excuse.

When I was a new Christian, I had no desire to be in the world. It was completely removed from me. Temptation, for me at least, came after I had been a Christian awhile longer. I wonder at these easy de-conversions when tested against Scripture. The Bible tells us that God will not put on us anything that we cannot escape from.

People say that those who are saved here came here already half converted. I say that those who de-convert are already there as well.

This site may be many things, but above all, we must trust God when it comes to the people here. He is able to keep those who belong to Him. He is also able to reveal the posers as well.

Hey, everyone.

I think it's pretty clear to everyone that the poll currently ongoing is not going to yield a lot of useful information, as it presents a dichotomy. So, I'm going to set up a series of one-issue polls so that the peoples's views on a bunch of issues can be heard instead of having them lumped together.

Please feel free to vote in this one, but please take time to vote in the others, as well. That way Erwin will have a clearer picture of what people really want.

You don't know about the poll they had regarding the issue? It was pretty well broadcast. Ask them about it.

Well, I know about polls in general. I also know the grave exaggerations in this place as well. I have been smack dab in the middle of it, so I am not the best person to be convinced of THE GREAT ATHEIST AGENDA!

Sorry, I am just not buying.

Jesus never fellowshipped with the downtrodden, leftovers, and non-believers. Jesus never tried to reach out to anyone who wasn't christian, He instead made sure that those who weren't like Him were kept a safe distance away in their own little ghettos; voted option 2.

Limed for emphasis.

Copied over from the previous thread so the other thread remains open.

Your link went to a wiki, so everyone is still unaware of what you are talking about. Unfortunately, the way you are presenting this would be considered spiritual blackmail. Many of us have seen conversions under the old CF. Many of us are not for a return to the old CF, but for a hybrid of what we had and some of the changes that have been made recently. That one soul is finding it's way to God is joyous, but that should not be the deciding factor for how the site is ultimately run.

But I am joyous that someone is finding their way to Christ!

(As a Calvinist, I believe that when God touches someone's heart, there is no turning back, ever! So even if there are further changes, there is no chance of the person falling away. )

There were ninety and nine that safely lay
In the shelter of the fold.
But one was out on the hills away,
Far off from the gates of gold.
The shelter of the fold is not in CF.

There were ninety and nine that anxiously lay
Alongside attacks and jeers.
But one was out on the hills far away --
Which may be safer than here!

If it is Spiritual Blackmail, so be it. What a negative thing to say about one person who is burdened for another.

Well for me it was mostly Christians that were snotty and aloof. Any time I attempted to have a personal dialouge with so called christians, I was met with condescension and an air of superiority. That has been my experience in both the owrld and the Internet.
Hey, I take offense to that! :p
