It's a negative personal statement; even if you didn't mean it to be insulting, I think it's difficult to make that sort of statement appear otherwise.
it's inline with many scriptures , not least Acts 8!
I see no problem with speaking the truth in love , even if "feelings" get hurt ....... political correctness is pretty pathetic.

speaking to a person who supposed he was Christian , but who had no real signs of such ;
