First, "cold-hearted" is in no way an insult.

It's a negative personal statement; even if you didn't mean it to be insulting, I think it's difficult to make that sort of statement appear otherwise.

I want him, and you, to get to know Jesus because He's beautiful. But that doesn't mean sitting back while people accuse Christians of being bad witnesses simply because they quote scriptures. It just doesn't work that way.

"Simply quoting Scripture", show me once where we've condemned someone for just posting Scripture. I haven't seen that. I have seen non-Christians being accused of every and anything, and when people tell those Christians they're being bad witness, people like you jump on them and call them "cold hearted".

And you want to talk about "hyperbole". HA!

And, yes, non-believers should not be in a leadership role within a Christian environment. Not because you're not "as good", but because we are so very different.

What about the Open Forums, the Discussion and Debate forums, the Entertainment Forums and so on, should we not even have a say in our own governance, as has been the policy up until now.

But here's a question: given you've just called yourself a Christian, what kind of witness have you just been?

I'm not Christian, I just said I like Jesus, and if I were, then I'l have been a damn good witness because I garentee you more non-believers will agree with me than you.

It's either a compliment, an insult, or critism, Critism requires more than a one liner, and it sure as hell wasn't a compliment.

Secondly, you're being incredibly mean, and you don't know me. Are you willing to look at your own behaviour, or is it easier to attack others for theirs based on your perception?

Gee, now my irony meter broke. Attacking people based on my perception, like you calling him cold-hearted because of your perception that "simply quoting Scripture", which would apparently include calling people cold-hearted as well, never, ever drives people from the message of Christ?

It's less than on the level for you to call me out for doing the exact same things your were doing not 20 posts ago, especially when you haven't even apologized for said actions, but continue to defend them.

I did, in fact, apologize, as I would never *ever* intentionally hurt someone's feelings.

You don't want to discuss this rationally. You said yourself, you feel knocking people down makes you look good. So, you can look back on this as a victory.

I don't want to have done a single thing to misrepresent how wonderful Jesus is. You feel I have so, again, I apologise. But going round in circles isn't productive for anyone. If you need to believe Christians suck, then you can.

But am glad you like Jesus, because He really is beautiful.

Well, here's one way - there's actually a chance at reconciliation, if they're allowed to talk to one another and express their opinions. It's up to them, but that sort of thing seems to happen more in open areas than restricted ones.

Well, it doesn't tend to be instantaneous. Just opens up the possibility. Maybe in the future, GreenMunchkin will think back and realize that using cold-hearted in such a way is going to get people upset rather than furthering the conversation. Maybe StrawberryCough will consider that his/her own insults don't help resolve matters, either.


Or, y'know, maybe not. But if people can't say what's upsetting them, it's hard to work things out.

I agree with you 100%... you cannot, however, disregard the absolute truth of Scripture. In the Word of God homosexuality is an abomination. To allow a homosexual couple to add wedding rings to their profile is an abomonation to God!

That's what you believe, and you have the right to have your beliefs. But CF is uniting all Christians as one body, and this includes Christians who don't believe that homosexuality is a sin, and Christians who actually live in homosexual relationships. Different Christians understand the Bible in different ways, some would agree with you and some wouldn't... and CF tries to unite them all.

Throws the Word right into the face of God. To say "if you say you're a christian, you're a christian, who are we to judge" slaps the teachings of Jesus right back in His face!!!

Actually, right now the faith icons are a way to say "This member self identifies as a....". So that when you're talking to a person, you know what's the religion they identify with.

Umm, what distinguishes this site as a CHRISTIAN site now? I almost recommend changing the name. If anyone can call themselves christian, there is no criteria to post in certain forums, what is the point in calling this a christian forum? Marketing? Name brand recognition? This isn't what I signed up for.
