Not mine, but that of all of us who do and will confess our faith by way of the Creeds. That bit has been trashed here, or did you miss it?

The creeds are simply human understandings of GOd, not God themselves. We need to listen to what Christ is saying here rather than condemning out of hand.

The Reformation shows how uncertain people were of what they were taught. Thus this uncertainty lead to uncertainty about God and far worse things.

I am sorry but people are not hurting one another. What is being pointed out is the dangers on the direction Erwin wish to take the forum in... dangers or results of depending on what you want.

It is correct to say what he wishes to do will in the end produce less conflict (discussion), it is incorrect to say that this will become a forum that will promote the Christian faith. People are simply telling him of their experiences with this method before on other forums and warning him of the results of these methods.

As a friend would you warn someone before they drove off the cliff or would you rather wait and see how it turns out?

What were you taught when (trying to phrase this correctly) you became a Christian? You were taught what Christ had done. And if from a liturgical Church background, you were taught the faith of your fathers and forefathers.

All that is being traded. Dumped out would be more accurate. The precious Eucharist is being thrown on the ground and spat upon and no one cares.

I thought the Eucharist was supposed to be the body of Christ, did it become bits & bytes now ?

Wow, talk about drastic changes!! I think a lot of the changes will work well, but I have some doubts about some...

What if everyone votes for someone as a mod simply because they're fun, friendly and popular, but they don't really have the right qualities to be a mod?

I pray these changes are made with guidance from the Lord

No, Jesus stayed away from conflict except when it confrounted Him, He never invited antagonists to His cause to be a party to Him. Sinners, yes, anti God, no.

Jesus was all about confrontation! He confronted the religious leaders of his day with their hyprocracy. He confronted the sinners with their sin. His life incited war from the time He was born and His life still incites war today. As Thiefinthenight reminded us, the war is not with flesh and blood but that is how it is played out... this thread is a perfect example.

In my very first post in this thread, I shared my grief at the anamosity being expressed here among my brothers and sisters toward one another. I should have gone to bed right then. I have allowed myself to be drawn into this argument and debate.... one I don't think anyone really and truly understands.

This really isn't about whether the forum is more open or closed. Whether it should be for Christians or open to non-Christians. Whether unbelievers should moderate or not. Those are just the tools of argument the enemy happens to be using at the moment.

Erwin is following the leading of the Holy Spirit. If your desire is to support your brother in his endeavor, then stay, be a part of the forum and hold up his arms.

If you feel God leading you elsewhere...go... but don't continue to try and bring division here. It is as simple as that. God did not call us to be divisive. There are plenty of other resources on this internet.

If you desire to be in a place that is for "Christians Only".. there are plenty out there. Go with the blessing of the Lord!!! That is as sincere as I can put it and is meant with more love than you can ever imagine!!!

Otherwise, let's stop all this ridiculous fighting, set our hands to the plow and get to prayer and find out what each of our jobs are in this body. Remember, some of us are fingers and toes and arms and legs. Find what God wants you to be in this forum and be it!!!!

I have come to the abrupt realization, that most "Christians" on this site do not in fact read the Bible. The majority of the "Christians" here do not even know what they "believe".

From what I have learned and experienced, I believe in Y'hoshua (Jesus), but sometimes, the Atheists have the upper hand in common sense. You can't live on bread alone. Get some God-given sense.

The Reformation had nothing to do with uncertainty -- on the contrary, it was based on certainty that there were fundamental moral problems with the officially sanctioned conduct of Church officials that needed to be 'reformed' for the good of Christianity itself.

What part of the Trinity do you consider a figment of our imagination? Just what particular parts of the Creeds do you think are not rooted in Scripture?

Friend, I have studied these matters longer than you've been alive. The Reformation caused NONE of these things, simply humans-beings being human did it all.
