• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd say I'm turned off by uncharitable behavior (especially because I want it out of my life as well):
being unkind to people "below" them
insulting or cutting down anyone, even family and friends
arrogant attitudes
lack of compassion or understanding for people in different situations
closed-mindedness and argumentative behavior
inconsiderate of the needs of those around them
an "I'm right, you're wrong" stony perspective on life where everyone of another opinion is the enemy

I'll add all those to my list, too.

Does anyone else find "firstborns" to be kind of arrogant sometimes? It seems like a lot of people have mentioned arrogance and that is the type of person I picture as being arrogant.
Nope, I'm humble as can be... it's my little brother who thinks he's entitled to things.;)

Nah, we're both well adjusted kids... but to me it's always seemed the younger seem more arrogant because they babied by parents and therefore sometimes believe they are entitled to things when they really aren't.

Maybe it is just me.

When she can't give me the time of day. As others stated honousity, which is huge for me.

Had one girl lie to me multiple times and it was hard to forgive her. Like sheesh just say your not intrested instead of leading me on in web of deceit.

I know that not *all* firstborns are this way, but it seems like a lot of them get offended if you disagree with them or something. For this reason, I like to purposefully disagree with them whenever possible. I'll even go out of my way to do so.

Actually, it's better than the alternative, which would be to always agree with them. Some people are like that. That kissing of their [egos] is what causes me to want to do the opposite.

ugh, I can't stand girls that party and flaunt their body... that's a huge turn off for me.

Modest is the hottest!
Woohoo. :p
Smokers, drinkers, and cursing excessively is a big turn off for me. Someone who laughs at me when I'm crying is a turn off as well. I speak from experience. :p
