  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Good morning all! Guess what I'm doing today! I'm going to a candy factory with a bunch of people from my church! It's gonna be fun... I hope. lol

Romans 8
9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Or perhaps you notice when you mess up, and not when you succeed! You're doing a lot right, too, don't be too hard on yourself!

Revelation 12:10
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser of our brothers,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.

Don't listen to the accuser - God is making you perfect, and satan doesn't like it!
You, brother, are growing as a man of God, and He delights in you!
Bless you.

That's the thing though, you guys don't see my everyday life. You only see what I tell you about, or what you see in my character through my posts. You don't see all of the places where I fall short.

I have to say though, that I am a lot closer to God than I was when we started this club. I don't always ask WWJD, but I have been doing better about doing the right thing. I have found that WWJD is a great tool for examining your life and getting right with God.

I feel the need to get out and do something for God with my life, but I don't know what. I am called to be a missionary, but I live a life that's void of service to the Lord. I am called to serve Him, but all I do is fall short!

Anyways, I realize that God is changing me, but I know that He can do so much more if I let Him. I need to give my life wholly to Him and serve Him with every moment of my life.

I was looking at a couple of the starting pages and this caught my eye.

Thank you Wolfman!

Since I needed to make this pryaer list to make it easier for me instead of scrolling through all the pages I figured I'd share it with everyone.

Here are all the names of those in our growing club:

  • CFfosterangel36
  • Cristianna
  • Eldaah
  • FriarErasmus
  • GatorGal
  • GoNoles
  • GreenMunchkin
  • HeReignsInMe
  • Ty
  • Wolfman

Think of how much this club has grown. It was funny seeing this again, because it reminded me of when this started, and how it has grown. May God bless you all.

Eldaah regardless of any of us seeing each other in daily life I know you are doing a great job. None of us are perfect. I know you are trying. I know there are struggles-- we all have them. Right now the most important matter on the table is the fact you see and know your relationship with God is strengthening.

Relinquishing all control to God is difficult. I certainly am not good in that area. I think it was smileyill who once said: When someone figures out how to do that (turn over everything) please tell me so I know.

I think you're doing very well. We all will have some kind of hazard on this road whether we trip, break our nose doing a face plant or just knock ourselves unconscious from a hard fall. But God is there to pick you up and we are here to help dust you off.

Some of these people have disappeared, but I'm not going for numbers, I'm going for changes in lives. My own included. I love having you guys to talk to. It's very encouraging to be able know that I have people praying for me, and people to ask advice from.

Thank you Cristianna. I know we're not perfect, but I have to try to get as close to perfect as possible. Perfect=Jesus. So I want to be closer to perfect. I want to be closer to Jesus. I wan't to live a life that's pleasing to the one who saved me. God is with us all, and God is faithful. He will draw us all close to Him.

I totally agree here, God is working in you, and I know that sometimes it is hard for us to see all the good changes, I know this from personal experience. So, keep on truckin, God will finish what He started.

Some of these people have disappeared, but I'm not going for numbers, I'm going for changes in lives. My own included. I love having you guys to talk to. It's very encouraging to be able know that I have people praying for me, and people to ask advice from.
They have, I may have to track down the good friar, I may be going over to his place tonight. Always fun having RL friend on here too.

 Good morning everyone, Just dropping by to say hi! Walking this walk is not easy but with Him all is possible.:amen:
Good morning all

It is great to hear that you are growing closer to God.
and where's my candy?

NONE FOR YOU!!!! IT'S ALL MINE! lol. JK.

I've been learning more about faith lately. I've been thinking about it, and I've found that almost always, I pray something without actually expecting it to happen. I want to have faith to believe that He will bring things to pass if I ask it of Him.

Another thing I've been wondering about is that in the Bible, Jesus says a couple of times that "Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you." or something to that extent, but we don't pray believing that. We pray only that God's will be done. Yes I want God's will, but how do you pray "in faith believing" that it will happen, when you aren't sure of God's will. Like, if I pray for my Grandpa to get saved, how can I believe that it will happen if it might not be God's will? Where is the is the line drawn?

I'm not sure how to totally answer that question, but I do know that it's God's will that none shall perish, so it is God's will that your Grandpa be saved. Keep praying for him, don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen in your time or on your terms though, it will happen in God's time and on His terms. Sometimes I think we forget that when we pray.
On that note, God's answers to prayer tend to be yes, no, wait. But, we really don't like the no and wait answers, but He knows what's best. If we're praying for something against His will, the answer may well be a NO.

Hmm... that is a tough one. wolfman did a great job answering it.

Here's how I would look at it (in conjunction with wolfman's response):

Do you have faith God can do things to soften your grandfather's heart, open his ears to hear God, and more?

Wow. This thread sure does move along quickly. I'm encouraged to see how God is working in each of your lives. God is moving me in my own life and giving me more of a desire to witness to non-believing NDNs. It's a difficult path to walk though, because so many are deeply hostile toward Christianity. That is a difficult obstacle to overcome.

Okay... I get it now. I'm utterly uneducated on NDNs :)thumbsup: ) and their beliefs. I would imagine (a shot in the dark here) their hostility is primarily based upon their heritage beliefs. Would that be a fair assumption?

It does move fast some days. I am glad to hear that God is moving in you :)
It may be hard, but He will give you strength.
I think the that no matter who you witness to there may be hostility. Like Jesus said, the world hated/hates Him, and it will do the same to us. But, he will also never ever leave you alone :)
