  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nobody's been very active here recently.

It's Easter! People are probably busy today.

I tried to spend my day thinking about and talking about Jesus and talking with and playing with my kids.;)

I hope all is well.

I will be very busy with work this week. See you all next weekend. Have a great week!^_^

Well, my busy work schedule was derailed by a very sick (to his stomach) little boy. :( He thinks he probably ate too much Easter candy yesterday. oops

There was a show on CNN last night called; "What Would Jesus Really Do?". It was on CNN! I TIVO-ed it and hope to watch it today now that I'm home unexpectedly. :)

Really? I wonder if it was any good.

I have been struggling to do what Jesus would do. It is never easy. I've been feeling more and more convicted recently about witnessing to the lost and how I use my time. I'm not really doing anything to tell others about Jesus, and I usually waste time during the day. I hardly do anything worth-while and I'm sick of it! I want to be like Him. I don't want to just live a normal life doing nothing to save those who are doomed to Hell for eternity! I want to serve my Lord. But what can I do? I know I can talk to people about Christ, but who? I am 16 years old (and I don't have a drivers license). There's not really anywhere where I can talk to people about Christ. I realize that there have been a few opportunities in the past that I haven't taken, but I just don't know what I can do. If any of you have any advice, I'd be glad to hear it.

i learned something important about JESUS last night: In John 13:31-18:1 JESUS presents HIS teachings concisely. I am going to be blogging on these teachings both here and at my main blogsite
http://lonnienord.blogspot.com

So why is this important to this discussion? I think, as i've expressed before, that:

In order to do what JESUS would have done we need to know what HE would do and the best way to know is to read/study the Gospels.

So here is today's blog:
Before the feast of Passover,
JESUS knew that HIS hour had come
to pass from this world to the FATHER.
HE loved HIS own in the world
and HE loved them to the end.
2 The devil had already induced
Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot,
to hand HIM over.
So, during supper,
3 fully aware that the FATHER
had put everything into HIS power
and that HE had come from GOD
and was returning to GOD,
4 HE rose from supper
and took off HIS outer garments.
HE took a towel and tied it around HIS waist.
5Then he poured water into a basin
and began to wash the disciples' feet
and dry them with the towel around HIS waist.

Note:
1. HE didn't skip Judus
2. No one commented until HE came to Peter

12 So when HE had washed their feet
(and) put HIS garments back on
and reclined at table again,
HE said to them,
"Do you realize what I have done for you?
13 You call me 'teacher' and 'master,' and rightly so,
for indeed I am.
14 If I, therefore,
the master and teacher,
have washed your feet,
you ought to wash one another's feet.
15 I have given you a model to follow,
so that as I have done for you, you should also do.

is HE literally asking us to wash each others feet?
only if that is the best way to serve.
what HE is really asking is that we serve each other because:

34 I give you a new commandment:
love one another. As I have loved you,
so you also should love one another.
35 This is how all will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another."
Awesome, and how true that is, we can't do what He'd do if we don't know Him well.
Thank you all for your prayers. I'm still sick, but I'm beginning to feel a little better. Yesterday I was having trouble even eating anything, but now I can eat without feeling too sick.

Yes, I should try to do that, but whenever I don't feel good, I have trouble making myself do anything. I need to work on that. I have thought about what I said about women being missionaries, and I think that I have figured out what I believe. I think I believe that women can be missionaries, but not in the same way as men. I do not believe that women should preach. So I think what I mean to say is that I think women can do missionary work and help people and witness to people, but I don't think that they should preach. If you don't agree, please don't get upset with me. I am just clarifying and correcting what I said earlier. Please don't be offended. This is just what I believe. You don't have to agree. And I'm not trying to turn this into a debate.

Yes, we should serve each other in any way possible. We are all called to serve Him. He served, so why shouldn't we. In order to do what Jesus would do we need to serve others.
I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, I'll keep you in prayer.

Happy Easter everyone!!!
Happy Easter All.

I know that feeling.
You are doing something here that can make a real difference.
If you physically can't go anywhere, you can go online with the message.

Read your bible, get to know Jesus better, memorize scripture (maybe one per week). Carry the chosen scripture around with you, meditate on its meaning, apply it to your life. In the morning ask God how you can be a blessing to others for Him. Look for opportunities to be a blessing online, on the phone, and in person. Sometimes one encouraging godly word from a Christian can change a person's life. You don't always get to see how you effect people. You have to be content in the knowledge that living a Christlike example can be a great blessing to others. :)

I know I can talk to people about Christ, but who?

Talk to everyone and anyone! You have the power of God living in you. It can be scary to speak out for Jesus, but we have to walk in faith.

I am 16 years old (and I don't have a drivers license). There's not really anywhere where I can talk to people about Christ. I realize that there have been a few opportunities in the past that I haven't taken, but I just don't know what I can do. If any of you have any advice, I'd be glad to hear it.

We all find great excuses why we don't do what the Lord instructs us to do. Don't blow your next opportunity, even if it's uncomfortable(and it probably will be). Those opportunities are tests from God to see if you will be obedient. He wants to know if you are ready for the next level. He won't bless your missions if he can't trust you to obey Him. You say you want to be a missionary. You need to start practicing right now where you are. Think about what you CAN do, not what you can't. You could start a daily blessings list. This list can include blessings you feel you have received and ways that you feel the Lord allowed you to bless someone else.

Recently a friend sent me a story about a women named Edith Burns. She always carried her bible with her (obviously not afraid to talk to anyone who might notice it - about God). Every day of the year she introduced herself this way; "My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?". If they said "yes" she would ask "What do you believe about Easter?" She loved having this same conversation over and over again. She won a lot of people to Christ.

You have to decide what is important in your life. If it's important to you that you tell people about Christ, then you will find a way to do it.

Hey everyone,
Hope you guys had a good, chocolatey, memorative Easter.

After doing a small search, I've found a little clarity now. I now know what I have to do to become a better person. I just hope that...everything will go well.

Just keep praying that He will give you opportunities! It is hard - but each time you obey it becomes a little easier!
And you are doing a great job for Him here, so don't feel that He isn't using you!!

I've been staying with (non-Christian) family for the last few days - which is normally dire, as I usually spend all my time bickering with them and come back feeling guilty and miles from God! This time, that didn't happen!! I didn't witness to them as much as I should have, but I think i was a lot nicer to them than usual, and did get one chance to talk about what Easter really means! Praise God, He kept His hand on me, and kept me close to Him!!

Hello friends!

I'm back... well, about 80% back and about 90% recovered-- only through the grace of God. I'm hoping to be in check much more frequently now, but I do have many things to catch up on-- balancing the check books, laundry, filing, laundry, sorting through several weeks of mail and school memos, laundry, catching up on bills, laundry, etc.

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter filled with many wonderful things!

 Good afternoon everyone, I hope you all had a Happy Resurrection Remembrance Day! I know I did, first of all not only did we have a great service we were joined by my son who does not go to church at all, but by a wonderful miracle of G-d we were presently surprised by my sons appearance at church I praise the L-rd for that. I know I've never commented about me or myself before but I'll try to make that effort from here on as to truly partake on this mission in this club. Well after service we had a great meal of fish no less, afterwards I went to my uncles rosary, who was married to my moms sis, I saw the sadness and hopelessness of my family and the people there. I have much work before me, please pray for my son, we're working with him to go to re-hab for drug and alcohol addiction. Well this is a little about me and mine for those who read and pray over this post G-d bless you and watch over you and yours.

Much love,

Melissa:hug:s
