  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's really great to hear. I am happy for you.

Missing that new member luncheon though might be important down the road, they probably explained the different colors of jello and how to properly use them. Times of year, which go best with fruit cocktail, which can be mixed with Kool Whip, and which you can't get out of the carpet.

You'll probably take years now to get that all down properly.

Thank you.

"Missing that new member luncheon though might be important down the road, they probably explained the different colors of jello and how to properly use them."

Actually, it may not have been a true Lutheran luncheon as I saw no Jello there. There was however two trays of lasagna. I had had my fill of Italian food two nights before. Also, I may be a bad Lutheran already as I have this "thing" about eating food other people have prepared. I won't do it, unless I know the person and have been to their house to see how clean they are. I'm funny that way, but my wife is the same way. LOL

I thought this stuff was covered in The Lutheran Handbook. My copy was stolen when my bacpack was stolen out of my Jeep late last year. I haven't replaced it yet.

Yes, forget the doctrine or the theology, it's all about the Jello man! LOL

Interesting. What if they only clean up because you are coming over and are not normally this clean. Wouldn't that be a bit deceiving?

Oh well that would mean more for me. ;)

You're right. I am never eating at a Lutheran Pot Luck! LOL One thing I do try and find out though is if either the kids or the grandkids helped make it. If they did, I'm brown baggin' it! LOL
