CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you have Sunday dinner plans? I'll be making a penne pasta in a simple pomodoro sauce tossed with grape tomatoes, fresh basil and fresh mozzarella cheese. Maybe a nice glass of Pinot Noir or Sangviovese. Simple but yummy!!

Yes, I do actually. Yours sounds yummy!! I'm making something off my new diet - Eggplant Spinach Lasagna. I've heard it's really good. Might make some parmasan garlic bread to go with it, and cheesecake for dessert.

Do you have a favorite place that you'd like to retire to?
Personally, I'm narrowed down to Traverse City, Michigan or Asheville, North Carolina. Of course, I'd have to talk my church into moving with me - otherwise I stay where I am.

LOL I hear ya! The only reason I've stayed where I am is because of my church! I have even thought about where I'd retire to. I don't know either of the cities you are contemplating, so can't pick between them.

OK - now I don't mean this to be a morbid question, but . . . . assuming that all family members are safe, what one thing would you take with you if you had to evacuate your house in an emergency (i.e. housefire)?
(Since most people say photographs, assume they're ok and choose something else!)

Hey Barb! How about Thursday night? This is what is going on starting at 7pm: "Join with believers from all over Las Vegas as we come together for a concert of prayer. We will be praying for personal, family, citywide, and global concerns."
Yeah, it would be funny! but I have had it happen before - it is a smallllllll world!

I'd have to say my mother.. As a kid I wouldn't have admitted to it, but it seems that I'm following in her footsteps (I'm becoming my mom!
), so she must have had a major influence.
