Where is the love?
"THE GREATEST LOVE A PERSON CAN SHOW IS TO DIE FOR HIS FRIENDS"
JOHN 15:13 NCV
When the Black Eyed Peas released their first single 'Where is the love?' it was an instant hit. The band shot to fame and youths across the world were singing 'Father, Father help us, with some guidance from above, cos people got me questioning, where is the love?' While it may make a good song one of the reasons for the size of the hit was that actually they were right, where is the love?
The shops today may be full of naff cards, big flowers and cheap chocolates but is all of that really love? Remember Jesus? When he died on the cross he answered the question 'where is the love', and he passed it onto you.
We live in a world where we all have a number 1 attitude. We must look after ourselves and it's actually unusual for someone to be considerate to a stranger. What would you do if, on joining a queue for no reason the person in front offered to let you take their place? How many times have you seen an elderly person standing up on a full bus while a group of youths sit right next to them?
So few people care about anyone but themselves we're shocked when anyone does something nice, no matter how small. The good news is that that makes it very easy to show people love and live out your faith. Doing something small will have a huge impact because in our culture it's not expected.
So today, instead of worrying about how many cards you do or don't have, how about answering the question, 'where is the love?'
