Except that the Chinese have no such story.
Here are Chinese "flood legends" from Talk Origins.

The Supreme Sovereign ordered the water god Gong Gong to create a flood as punishment and warning for human misbehavior. Gong Gong extended the flood for 22 years, and people had to live in high mountain caves and in trees, fighting with wild animals for scarce resources. Unable to persuade the Supreme Sovereign to stop the flood, and told by an owl and a turkey about _Xirang_ or Growing Soil, the supernatural hero Gun stole Growing Soil from heaven to dam the waters. Before Gun was finished, however, the Supreme Sovereign sent the fire god Zhu Rong to execute him for his theft. The Growing Soil was taken back to heaven, and the floods continued. However, Gun's body didn't decay, and when it was cut apart three years later, his son Yu emerged in the form of a horned dragon. Gun's body also transformed into a dragon at that time and thenceforth lived quietly in the deeps. The Supreme Sovereign was fearful of Yu's power, so he cooperated and gave Yu the Growing Soil and the use of the dragon Ying. Yu led other gods to drive away Gong Gong, distributed the Growing Soil to remove most of the flood, and led the people to fashion rivers from Ying's tracks and thus channel the remaining floodwaters to the sea. [Walls, pp. 94-100]
The goddess Nu Kua fought and defeated the chief of a neighboring tribe, driving him up a mountain. The chief, chagrined at being defeated by a woman, beat his head against the Heavenly Bamboo with the aim of wreaking vengeance on his enemies and killing himself. He knocked it down, tearing a hole in the sky. Floods poured out, inundating the world and killing everyone but Nu Kua and her army; her divinity made her and her followers safe from it. Nu Kua patched the hole with a plaster made from stones of five different colors, and the floods ceased. [Werner, p. 225; Vitaliano, p. 163]

Gong Gong
Gong Gong was ashamed that he lost the fight to claim the throne of Heaven
Sounds awfully familiar to Satan, doncha think?

Also noted is the referance to The Supreme Sovereign.. ;)

That 'hole' that was patched would be the great fountain of the deep I presume! hehe

Again dragons and ape-men are universal too. Dragons are giant reptilian creatures with long snouts. Ape-men are 10-foot tall furry bipedal humanoids. The flood has people on a boat with animals and a flood kills everything except what was in the boat. These are all plenty vague enough to be achieved independantly and specific enough to be seemingly non-coincidental.

The chinese underworld is ruled by the SHI-TIEN YEN-WANG, the ten judges. Several other gods inhabit the halls of the Chinese Hell, such as Di-Kang-Wang and Meng-Po. Gong Gong is a water god and does not appear to be among the inhabitants of the underworld.

No, it would be a hole in the sky.

Isaiah 27:1
In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

No, it would be a hole in the sky.
Who ever said the fountains of the deep were inside of landmass?

Sorry to double post but dang it, I couldn't put my text in the same post.

Flood myths abound; more often than not beside major bodies of water. If there WAS A global floodw why were there no flood stories from the sahara...heck, west africa from north to south didn't experience a thing. Certainly there have been Innu at that time as well...and yet, no flood.

But all this is belied by the fact that God does not disperse all of mankind until Babel; AFTER the flood. So how can you argue that aLL these locations were covered in a flood if nobody was there at the time?

As we can see, the etymology of boat is the characters for "vessel", "eight" and "person". Sound familiar? The ancient Chinese, having traveled into Asia after the Lord scattered the citizenry of Babel [Gen. 11:8], still recalled the history of their origin and applied that knowledge in the creation of their new writing system. When they needed a character to mean "boat", what could be more obvious than to allude to the most famous boat of them all, Noah's Ark, and the eight people - Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives [Gen. 6:10,18 7:7] - who were on board. (Also, this honoring of Noah may be seen as part of the origin of the debased ancestor worship cults that infected China, the ancient Chinese still knowing at this point that they are descendants of Noah.)
While this is a very impressive proof of the historicity of the Flood, it is not the only one to be found in the Chinese pictographs. The character for "drown" tells the story of what befell the other people living in Noah's day. This character is more complicated, made of a number of compound parts, so we'll go through it step by step:
chineseunited.gif
Here we have the character for "united" or "all". It is made up of "man", "one" and "person". Symbolically this means that all men are as one person, united in their opinions, actions, and speech. In Genesis 6 we see that all of mankind - save Noah and his generations - are united in their corruption. Also, we may infer from Genesis 11 that these antediluvian men all spoke as one, using one language, since it was only after the building of the tower of Babel that the Lord saw to confound the singular language of man. The character for "person" has a dual meaning of "mouth".
chinesecover.gif
Next we have the character for "to cover over". It is made up of "united" and "hands joined". This symbolizes a united people, their hands joined together, forming a shield to cover over something that they wish to protect - or hide in shame?
chinesedrown.gif
Finally we come to the character for "drown". We see that it is made of "to cover over" and "water", obviously symbolizing water covering over that which is drowned. But symbolically what is being drowned in this character? There's a double meaning here, for it is both all as well as mankind united as one person, speaking in one language, being covered over in the waters as they join their hands in a futile and arrogant attempt to form a shield against the raging waters. There is only one event in history that fits that description, and that is the Flood.

All it proves is Fundie Christians stole the Flood story from the Chinese. Ha!
Yeah, I never understood why multiple flood stories from different cultures somehow makes the Biblical one true. By this reasoning, any of the flood stories could be true. The Biblical version doesn't get special treatment.

Besides, the Biblical version was plagerized from the Epic of Gilgamesh from the ancient Sumerians. So if anything, it would meam the Epic of Gilgamesh is true.

Of course, this is all moot, since pretty much every branch of evidence (geological, archeological, biogeographical) contradicts a relatively recent global flood.

The Chinese language happens to be THE oldest known to man..

It is as ancient as 4500 Before Christ..

So, this would be the piece de resistance
Er...no. Chinese language is merely the oldest surviving written language (dating to around 1500 BC). Sumerian and Egyptian written pieces are dated to 3200 BC, which makes them older than Chinese. Beyond written samples, scholars cannot agree on which language is actually oldest as far as being spoken.

The Chinese language is the oldest written language in the world with at least six thousand years of history. Chinese character inscriptions have been found in turtle shells dating back to the Shang dynasty1 (1766-1123 BC) proving the written language has existed for more than 3,000 years. The Chinese written language uses single distinctive symbols, or characters, to represent each word of the vocabulary. The vast majority of characters are written versions of spoken sounds that have meaning. A large dictionary usually contains 40,000 characters.2 One must be able to recognize 2,000 to 3,000 characters to read a newspaper. Although the written system has been altered over time due to revolutions and political changes, the principles of the language along with the symbols and characters have remained basically the same.

Oldest Written Form

Some people base their answer on which language got written down first. If you're counting absolute oldest, probably Sumerian or Egyptian wins because they developed a writing system first (both start appearing in about 3200 BC). If you're counting surviving languages, Chinese is often cited (first written in 1500 BC), but Greek is a possible tie because it was written in Linear B beginning ca. 1500 BC.*

Isaiah 27:1

So now leviathan is Satan? You had better get your story straight with the other creationists- they think it's a pleisiosaur.

Who ever said the fountains of the deep were inside of landmass?

Pretty much every other YEC I've ever met.

I think you must be thinking of the "windows of heaven"- because I think any sane person knows "the deep" does not refer to the sky.
