  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I abandoned my faith for a number of years, and when looking for a church, decided on a Methodist church. I didn't get much out of it.

To my mind, many of the denominations that came out the Protestant Reformation had grown lax, and so I found an independent Christian church where I rededicated my life to the Lord, ultimately becoming Southern Baptist.

Don't get me wrong. I don't doubt that many Christians are part of some solid, Bible-believing churches in these denominations. I just thinks it's a shame that some of the churches in these denominations are nothing more than Sunday morning meetin' places.

That is exactly what my church has become. I have gotten to the point of not even staying for worship or completely skipping any church on Sunday's. I need more. It wasn't always like this in the Methodist church. I grew up in this church and only left for about 15 years. I need to talk to my minister about this but how do you tell a man that he's not feeding me?

Wow again. Hmmmm, when you figure that one out, pass it along.
