My air conditioning has been off for a LONG time, Ms Louisiana...now my furnace is running - the REAL furnace - not the hot flash one...;)

Ms Minnesota, we have been known to have to run the AC in December!!!! I won't turn on the furncae until it actually hits freezing outside.

Well, I left church before they were done. They were mostly done but they still had communion and the pastor was going to wash everyone's feet. It lasted quite longer than what I am used to. Not in a bad way. The pastor taught Sunday school and I'm not used to much praise and worship. But guess what??? A young man was saved today  thank you God. They have different offices...pastor, co-pastor, minister, prophet, etc. So a minister did the sermon. She spoke right to me, she said God told her to tell me that I am loved. Wow!! It was awesome...I cried. Miss Mary, who I work with, is the co-pastor.

It's a non-denominational church. There were less than 40 people there today including children but I believe God is working and that He is blessing them. The majority of the members are African American but you know what, they made me feel so welcome. So many people came up to me and gave me a hug. Miss Mary is a sweetheart anyway. She told me last weekend that I had a calling on my life. I pray God uses me anyway He wants to.

The bad part about me thinking about leaving...I'm on the Board of Trustees as treasurer. The Board is the only church elected committee.
well, they may have to elect someone else then. BUT you need to take care of your spirit, and if it isn't being fed...well..need to move on.

Hi JP. Dawn, I was the treasurer at our church for a number of years. When I decided I'd had enough, I made sure I had everything covered - I had all my duties down on paper and left when they found someone else to replace me. I knew I had to do it and God took care of the things I couldn't.

I'm on a few other minor committees...when you are a small church you wear many hats. I also teach adult Sunday school once a month, that will be harder to replace because not many people will teach SS. Methodisim in general is becoming so liberal too, and for anyone that knows me...I ain't liberal.
I hear you. I'm in a small church, too. There's usually only a few people who'll do what needs to be done. I'm praying for God's direction for you.

I abandoned my faith for a number of years, and when looking for a church, decided on a Methodist church. I didn't get much out of it.

To my mind, many of the denominations that came out the Protestant Reformation had grown lax, and so I found an independent Christian church where I rededicated my life to the Lord, ultimately becoming Southern Baptist.

Don't get me wrong. I don't doubt that many Christians are part of some solid, Bible-believing churches in these denominations. I just thinks it's a shame that some of the churches in these denominations are nothing more than Sunday morning meetin' places.
