I'm sure it is!I am ENFJ.
Hopefully that is okay for a future deacon.
I is the most common for clergy on the E, I line.I know in our RC diocese NF was the most common by a large percentage...oddly enough so was the I's...
mine is ENFP...
Yea..I realize that..but I find it odd that people in public ministry draw their energy from being "alone" - I think it has to do with the whole "contempletive" trait that is expected of clergy. I wonder though, the difference in denominations, programs, sizes of churches for the E and I...it would be interesting if there is a correlation between different variables...I is the most common for clergy on the E, I line.
Remember that it's about where you draw your energy from, by the Myers-Briggs definition. So I's draw their energy from time away from other people (although not necessarily their immediate family). E's draw their energy from being with other people.
oooh - that's an interesting thought. I would love to know that.Yea..I realize that..but I find it odd that people in public ministry draw their energy from being "alone" - I think it has to do with the whole "contempletive" trait that is expected of clergy. Remember that Jesus withdrew from the others to connect with his Father and recharge his batteries. The crowds and disciples, though he loved them, took a lot out of him.I find it odd that people in public ministry draw their energy from being "alone"
But is it expected, or is it simply a common character trait within the vocation? Which came first - the character trait or the expectation? The chicken or the egg?I think it has to do with the whole "contempletive" trait that is expected of clergy.
The other thing to remember is that no one is pure E or pure I; we are all on a relative scale. Some people may be classified as 'I', but only just slightly over the threshold; vice versa for E, of course. So, scientifically speaking, you would have a hard time with the statistics on this question!I wonder though, the difference in denominations, programs, sizes of churches for the E and I...it would be interesting if there is a correlation between different variables...
yeah the sliding scale is interesing.
The I/E is the one I am closest to the middle on. The P/J I am way down the J end. I think part of the I/E one is because I have pushed myself a lot in larger groups.
Also I think some confuse I with shyness. Both dh and I are I's, but he is not shy and I am. So if I am in a large group of people I don't know I just want to flee. If I know them I am much better. I also find talking to people I don't know takes a lot of work for me. If they are people I know well I love to spend time with them.
I hate shopping centres!
I'm ENFJ - apparently only found in 2% of the population. Hey IowaLutheran, we're 'special'!![]()

Where are you getting your stats from? I only find that ENFJ's are 5% and INFJ's (also INFP's) are 1%. But my info is from older Myer's Brigg's test materials and a web site. Maybe you have a newer site/book?
