  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Probably INFJ (that's what I am). :)

That stands for Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Judging.

Honestly, I have been told that most priests are introverted.

Try going to www.humanmetrics.com to find out what type you are. The Jung Typology test is what the Myers-Briggs test is based on.

Famous people who are also INFJ like me:
Nathan, prophet of Israel
Robert Burns, Scottish poet
Nathaniel Hawthorne
Fanny Crosby, hymnist
Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Fred McMurray (of My Three Sons)
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Nelson Mandela
Mel Gibson

I'm an INFP. My undersanding is also that the word Judging is misleading. My husband, an INTJ, finds it easier to make decisions than I do as my tendency to see a myriad of perspectives and possibilities makes it a much more difficult chore to clearly say yes/no, or T/F.

I spoke about this to an LPC just two weeks ago. He said that you'll never find an *NT* in the Priesthood. They ask too many questions and are always doubting.

As an ENTJ myself, that's a pretty poor generalisation of how the *NT* mindset works.

I have done this a few times. Maybe I should try again.

The other times I have been an ISTJ

My husband is an ISTP.

I have always understood the difference between the P and J is kind of the decision making thing, but also the organisational thing. I am very ordered. My husband is more spontaneous. He is a big picture person - I fill in the details.

When we did it the first time the people running it divided our group in to two for each pair and got us to do a task that showed out the differences.

E and I - I can't remeber the tast, but is was all about where you draw your energy. I think they just asked us if it was a Friday night of a very busy week would you rather spend the night at home, or go out with friends. E's like to be re-energised by people, so they like the crowd. I like to stay at home.

S-N - we described the ocean. He came and looked and noticed that someone in our S group was putting words like inspirational, as opposed to the rest of us who were putting wet, salty, etc.

T-F - we discussed how we would approach someone who was in unrepentent sin. It was interesting.

P-J - we planned a day out together. The P group were going to meet at the beach and maybe go hangliding. As a J I figured it would never happen with no J's in the group. We had a detailed plan including a wet weather alternative!

Yes it highlighted our extremes, but it was really interesting to see.
