• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

do you ever find yourself thinking about lost virtual friends years after you last chatted, or is it a worry linked in closer time frames than that?
I suppose it depends how and why they left.
Often people let others know they are going or leave hints, the worrying ones are ones who seem distressed or upset when they go and then just disappear.
If it was someone I'd grown to know and like, if I felt they had gone unexpectedly, I guess even a long while later, I'd wonder/worry. But worry is always more intense in a closer time frame. and there's also the sense of feeling helpless about helping...
Something that can occur too irl

*snuggle*
(my joints are getting better enough for snuggles again...)

I had a viral infection at the begining of August and developed an acute arthritis after that affected all my joints- fingers, hands, elbows, etc down to my feet. They all got hot and swollen and painful.
They're slowly improving and the blood test that measures inflammation is coming down, though it's still over twice the normal limit at the moment.
My GP tested me for Rheumatoid arthritis but it came back negative thankfully...
It hurt to even be touched through August but son2 hugged me tonight after I'd helped him with his homework and I didn't even get a twinge!

Holy cow! Sounds like some of what I went/am going through, though yours sounds much more painful.

No, it's limited to the joints and not muscles, which are also tender, I believe in fibromyalgia. It's an autoimmune disease (the body's antibodies attack the joint lining.) I'm just glad it's easing a bit- I haven't been well for 2 months now but i've not been able to take much time off...
*snuggle*- fibromyalgia is very painful, I hear...

:)
Hubbie would kill me if I pushed it and its his charity I'm doing it for (his Lourdes group.)
I spoke to the guy organising it and he says not to worry too much as they have back up cars i can hitch a lift in...
I've paid and I've also banked over £500 sponsorship money already so I have to do some of it...

Ah....
The root of homework procrastination is also gf related.
I haven't quite worked out the precise details and I'm not sure I really want to, but it did result in homework for the week being left till 3pm on Tuesday...
I think you may be right. My precious little nine year old boy has a crush that goes by the name of "Jessica."

What do you suppose the chance are that she will return the Little Scientist's love?
