  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When we die will our sins be brought back up? I hear people say that your sins will play out in front of you and everyone will see. Is this true?

This is a tricky question.

Heaven is not like going to a court room and being cross examined and the Angels and God see what you have done.

If you sinned, you should go to Hell, However, if you received salvation, all your sins are washed away by the blood of Christ, so they no longer count when you enter Heaven.

I would have to say, that this whole "Your sins will be played before everyone" is just a hollywood thing.

I belive I have seen a movie with that idea a while ago.

I hope I have answered your questions.

God Bless

When you pray and ask for forgiveness are you supposed to confess your sins???????????

Yes, but only the ones you know about, and then just a add in for all the ones you do not know about.

"Forgive me! A Sinner!"
just the acceptance that you are a sinner, and desire to overcome your sins, is what you are suppsoed to do.

God Bless

After Christ's resurrection and ascension believers who die go immediately to be with Christ. Prior to His ascension "saved" people went to Abraham's bosom, or paradise where they stayed until resurrected. Since Christ took the keys to death and hell with Him, believers go to be with Christ.

The only judgement believers face will be the judgement of our WORKS since we became believers. Our sins are NOT judged.

Our salvation is not in question, only the rewards we will receive based on our WORKS after being saved.

Hope this helps.

IlikeJesustoo...

I have sort of a different answer.

We all will be accountable to Christ for our sins...both deeds and words spoken.

I do not know how this will occur, but the scriptures do state that those with their names in the book of life shall live and are forgiven.

We also will be made perfect -- likewise without sin and without death. The scriptures say in Heaven there will not even be marrying. We will be as angels...but for now we are alittle less than angels according to scripture.

As Keys says - we are to confess our sins today and turn away for the sin we seek forgiveness for so that we do not take the Lord's Grace in vain.

We are washed clean by Christ, but only if we do not suffer from reprobate minds and choose sin rather than loving God.

Provided you have love ... (which I see from your profile name you do) ... you have more than knowledge. :)

Be Blessed and well in Christ. :)

For the person who hungers for righteousness and want forgiveness for sins, I have always liked to think like the Psalmist said: "As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us." (Ps 103:12)
The judgment of the Saint was at the cross and all the sins of my life were nailed to that cross with Jesus. They will not be rehashed before man or God again, They are settled forever, once and for all through God's act of love towards me and all of mankind that wants that freedom and cleansing.
The only ones that answer for sin are those who awake at the great white throne judgment, where God opens the books and has each give an accounting for their lives and their sins. (Revelations 20:11-15)
The only judgment of the saints is where their works for God are tried with fire. All that we do for God with selfish intent will be consumed like wood , hay, and stubble, but the truly unselfish acts we do for God - where we give of ourselves expecting nothing in return - those will be like gold and precious diamonds that survive the fire and remain. This is written of in 1 Corinthians 3:11 through 13, where "everyman's work is made manifest (known)".

I agree with this answer entirely.

In a nutshell, no, our sins will not be played in front of everyone.

The Bible says that God removes our sins from us, as far as the east is from the west, and also that He remembers them no more. In my opinion, that means who won't be bringing them back up. They are gone forever.

Psalm 103:12
"As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us." [KJV]

Jeremiah 31:34
"And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." [KJV] underlines mine.

So don't worry. As a matter of fact, I was worried about that, too.;)

I used to have such a hard time with that. I was brought up in a family where noone ever admitted they had done something wrong, or said sorry, so it was all extremely humiliating/humbling for me when I was expected to do it as an adult.

I was taught the "proper"/Biblical way to ask forgiveness.
1. I am sorry.
2. I was wrong for...
3. Would you please forgive me?

I think God wants us to do the same thing with Him. If we have a specific sin that we are convicted of, yes it is hard to admit it, but I think we should. It requires humility... something we all need to develop.

I believe that whenever you can be specific, you should. It is much better for you to thoroughly confess. I always felt more thoroughly forgiven that way.

I agree except maybe I am reading more into it that I should. So let me jsut expand slightly.

IF you have repented of your sins, and Baptised. Those sins are gone forever. Never to be brought out again. they are blotted out by the blood of Jesus. the Bible says they are cast in the sea of forgetfulness. Accountability is still on you for NEW sin. however, if you repent for those sins as thy occur (sincere repentance not jsut an Im sorry) Repent = 180 degree turn around and walk away from. Ayway, the onyl sin you will be held accountable for will be unrepented sin.

There can be sin in your way that you are unaware of, ask God to reveal to you the unknown sin, that you can confess it with your mouth to him. I ask that as well as ask God to forgive me for the unknown sin. Once repented it falls to the sea with the others. it is forgiven and blotted out by the blood. he is unable to read it.

The biggest problem with sin is thatthe devil likes to rub out noses in our past. He likes to remind us of our past and tell us God can not Love you after your past. You did this, and that, and this, etc...

So we then get all hung up. Maybe preaching to myself here again, lol, but I learned once I recognize satan is doing this I rebuke him and move on. He has no right to bring it up to you. He is trying to cause you to questin your salvation. If he can do that then the devil will grab hold and do what he can to bring you back to his ownership.

Hoe that helps. Just Love God, have a heart Like David. God called David a perfect man. Why, because he was after the heart of God. He repented when he messed up. He messed up alot, just did not repeat the same mess up usually.

God bless

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. Thats why its called the present.

If God has forgiven your sins and remembers them no more. Then no, God will never ask you about your sins when you enter in heaven right after physical death or when Christ returns. But those who remain unsaved and died in their sins, God remember their sins and will be asking them about all of their sins as it was never erased from God's mind.

Greetings
No your sins were all paid at the Cross, I see you cross sign. When you asked Jesus to save you wasn't his death in the past for you, all of our sins were future so were learn from this that past sins-present sins- and future sins were all bundled together in the full payment of the Cross.

Jesus said to us who believe that he would not hold any sin against us.

We still will sin but this is taken out of the way by going to Jesus everyday and telling him those, you want to be as clear as water with God.

Remember this , when God saved you he pulls us out of the world, but it takes time for him to get the world out of us, this work will go one until Jesus comes for us and takes us to heaven, by rapture or death.

Yielding to him to be shaped makes it allot easier then making him shape you. We will be shaped into the Character of Jesus one way or the other, easy or the hard way.

You don't have any sins against you just those you don't confess up to God about, he will not hear your prayers because of it.

There is so much to that question. but I'd love to take time to answer it better if you need me to.

Go in peace my Brother your faith has made the whole.
