HELP! Anyone experiencing heartache trying to conceive a 3rd child??

Hi! i have two beautiful daughters that i am very thankfull for. we have been trying for 4 years to concieve our 3rd child with no luck. we have been to doctors who say everything is normal. we are not into the different types of fertility options. has anyone experienced this?? my best friend is about to give birth to her 4th child and she is younger than me and expecting of all things, a girl. this will be so extremely heart breaking for me. when she told me that she was pregnant months ago, i ran out the room hystericly sobbing (we were at church, not a pretty scene!). i have prayed and prayed. just felt like chatting about it. thanks for listening!

I actually know what you are talking about. It took me 3 years to conceive my third child. I am now trying for my 4th and we have been trying for 2 years. If you want to chat you can PM me anytime.

Be thankful that you are so blessed as to have been able to conceive the two you have!! If God wants to bless you with a 3rd one..he will. Put it totally in his hands!! Dont try so hard!!

it took me 16 yrs to conceive my first one and 2 yrs to conceive my 2nd one! Some of us arent quite as fertile as others. We need to be as patient as possible and realize God's timing is BETTER than ours!

Yeah I had the same problem. Conceived my first boy very easily (born at 33 weeks and all is well) He is now 12. It took 2 years to conceive my second boy (born at nearly 27 weeks, (he is now 8), had a bit of a rough trot with him medically and learning difficulties but apart from that he is great!

We spent 2 years trying for a third and finally saw the 2 lines on the stick then miscarried the next day. Went to the doc and got cleaned out and while they were there they lazered my ovaries (which sounds so wrong! but they did because I have polycystic ovary syndrome. ( So its a miracle really that I have the two I have got. ) They said it was 25% success rate that it would work. We tried again for 6 months or so and then we stopped trying. I have had a few years to process it all and am now ok with not having anymore.

As for people around you having babies and falling pregnant. It seemed everyone was getting pregnant around me and having babies. I had a couple of friends who trod very lightly around me when they told me of their good news. I think they thought I would flip out. Yeah it made me think of how hurt and frustrated I was to not be able to do the same thing. But I was so happy for them. It took me to swallow back the hurt for a moment and realise I was happy for them. Its so hard!

I am grateful for my two boys, they are such great kids and hillarious! I really understand the heartache of trying for a third. I really hope it happens for you soon.

Hi there, I am in a similar boat! i am currently TTC my 2nd child, 3rd pg. My 1st pg ended in m/c at 14 weeks
My baby girl is now 16mths! I am so so so thankful for her.
But It is really hard when it seems like EVERYONE around you falls pg just by looking at each other!!! My good friend just had her 3rd on sunday (3 under 3yrs, yikes!) and although I am so happy for her, there is still that heartache there because I want it for us too...

What sort of tests have you had done? One that doesn't seem too common - but can have a big effect on TTC chances - is homocysteine. If levels in the blood are too high, it can (apparently) cause fertility problems, including recurrent miscarriages. It's often ridiculously easy to fix, too - supplementing with folate, b12 and b6 for a few months usually fixes the problem. Other nutritional deficiencies can cause fertility problems too - zinc is another common one. They affect women AND men, remember. Sorry if you know all this inside out, I thought it might be pertinent since you've had 2 children and know there's nothing fundamentally wrong.

Of course, sometimes God is just putting a hold on things for reasons of his own. He kept telling me it'd be a long time till we actually had children, and I kept hoping I was mishearing!
