• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey guys, I am new here:p

I am a chinese live in France right now, and I am saved 2 years ago, and thank God that I finally decided to follow him instead of my tranditional education.

I am quite possitive about the future of China, last time when I went back, I help a group of american missionaries for their preaching near a big university. I was touched by what God has done, as I found the young chinese student they are very curious about christianity and Jesus, even they may have not at all knowledge about it before, some one ask me " Do I have to fill out a form to become a christian", " do I have to be rich?", " do I have to be american to be a christian?", " Do I have to give them my ID card?" some questions like that asked from times to times, but it shows that they aren't like those european people who are annoyed by the questions of Christ, intead, they want to know, eventhough they do not believe yet, their hearts are open to it. When I come back to France, I am helping my church to do some evangelisation here, but that is so hard, people here has understanding about who jesus is, and they do not wanne talk about it, they run, and refuse.

Cheers, thank God for his love in China

For centuries China stood as a leading civilization, outpacing the rest of the world in the arts and sciences, but in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the country was beset by civil unrest, major famines, military defeats, and foreign occupation. After World War II, the Communists under MAO Zedong established an autocratic socialist system that, while ensuring China's sovereignty, imposed strict controls over everyday life and cost the lives of tens of millions of people. After 1978, his successor DENG Xiaoping and other leaders focused on market-oriented economic development and by 2000 output had quadrupled. For much of the population, living standards have improved dramatically and the room for personal choice has expanded, yet political controls remain tight.

I am an American in China. I have been here for several years. China can not be explained it only can be experienced.

As a bible college grad. I first came to China in 2002. I have been here since. I was here throught the sars incident and bird flu scare. They are now celebrating the Shenzhou IV's return. Its amazing. You got to come to the place you will not regret it.

Yes, my heart goes out to China. I love China and my adopted daughter is from China. So a part of my heart belongs there as well. I pray for the unsaved there all the time, and hope that God will send someone to my daughters birth parents to tell them of the good news of our Lord and savior. I love teaching my daughter about her birth country. China has someone beautiful sights and beautiful souls.

Isn't the bird flu scare still in high affect? It seems to be on the news quite a bit on this side of the Yellow Sea.

I am sure someone has already mentioned this (I haven't looked at all the pages of this thread), but has anyone here read "The Heavenly Man" -- the story of Brother Yun, as told by Paul Hattaway.
I had the privilege of seeing/hearing Brother Yun speak at a church here in Seoul just a few weeks ago. Amazing man of God. I recommend his book; it tells about the persecutions of the Chinese Christian church as well as God's hand of blessing and miracle.

It was written by a Lady mamed Li Qing-Zhao.For all of you who love China.

Rumengling (Like A Dream)

I often recall the brook side pavilion.

Where I was detained against the waning day.
I was so dreamful that I couldn’t know my way home.
But I had all the fun. Indeed . I was happy.

All the pleasure spent. I managed to return.
I plunged deep among water lilies(荷花) my sculls.
I struggled and struggled out of the tangle.
I thus alarmed a beach of herons and gulls.
