
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31 (NIV)
As a follower of Jesus, you have been given spiritual power that far surpasses any physical strength. Those who are dependent on natural physical abilities will eventually fail. God can supply you with a never-ending reservoir of strength and endurance unheard of by the greatest athletes this world has ever known.
When you access your awesome power provided by God, you will discover a confidence that can make an enormous difference in everything you do on His behalf.
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
With Jesus as our king we live in a community of believers bound by the common purpose to share God’s love with the world. Our mission is not to simply talk about God, but to take action on His behalf; to access our awesome power through an outpouring of love.
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.” 1 Corinthians 4:20 (NIV)
The exact same awesome power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave vibrates through the spirit of every believer. We are thereby blessed with endurance, patience, and a joyful heart. These are the gifts given to us by our Father to protect us from this world and serve as tools that will attract others to follow Jesus.
“We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.” Colossians 1:9-12 (NIV)
Praise be to God for sending His Son! Praise be to Jesus for our salvation. May we bring glory to God as we access our awesome power on His behalf.
