Who Is Your Master?

"What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness." (Romans 6:15‭-‬18 NKJV)

The grace of God does not give us liberty to continue in sin. Rather it came to teach us to forsake unrighteous and every unwholesome attitudes (Titus 2:11-12). It did not come so as to allow us to excuse our weaknesses. The grace of God is given not only to overcome our weaknesses but also to live the heavenly lives here on earth. This will result in having heaven on earth.
At conversion, we were delivered from the power of sin. We must now continually yield ourselves to the truth; by studying and obeying the truth of the gospel. This daily yielding will guarantee our victories over earthly things.
The doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ is the doctrine of the scriptures. At redemption, the grace to obey Christ is being given. We bring ourselves under compulsion to do what is right at all times. We become slaves of righteousness! A righteous man or woman will always find a way to do what is right, by God's grace.

ACTION PLAN: Are you 'born again' and still enjoy sin? Something fundamental is wrong with your new birth experience, beam the searchlight of God's word into your foundation again.

PRAYER: Father, shine your light at my foundation in Christ. Terminate the life that loves sin in me.
