For some of us, there is nowhere else to turn to. Jesus Christ has to be the answer. Otherwise life is pointless. I've explored alternatives such as Buddhism. My instincts finally saved me from embracing karma, nirvana and reincarnation. In my brief atheistic moments, I sensed the lack of warmth, of coldness even. Buddhism and atheism are lonely sports.
Just trying to hold down a low status, lowly paid job and hang on with your bear finger-nails to your marriage, hoping your partner's patience can last just a bit longer. Come on hon!
Look I do tend to be melodramatic. I am so blessed. Grace saved me so many times in my life I'm sure. I get the feeling someone must've been praying for me, even when I was in the midst of a decadent secular lifestyle. it's quite possible you know because I have an aunt who is a Catholic nun.
So I need Christianity to work. I need God to exist. I need Jesus Christ to be the Son of God. I need faith for the remainder of my life to be meaningful.
My only concern is that I may settle for superficial language, superficial answers. The depth of God is beyond language really. That is why we yearn for God. Because He remains a mystery to us. Enigmatic....is that the right word? Maybe not.
