God created your arms, those skinny legs you loathe at times, your skin color, your blue-brown eyes, your brown hair and even the stomach that now has a few extra pounds. If that is not enough, God knows everything about you and this includes your sinfulness. When you placed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you became spiritually alive and the Holy Spirit will always live inside of you. You were recreated on the inside at spiritual rebirth through Christ and now your confidence comes from Christ's power to do a work of sanctification in your life daily. When you have salvation through Christ, you are richer than a billionaire.
You Are God's Child By Adoption
None of us are born God's children because we were born in this world spiritually dead in trespasses and sins, and as a result we were destined to spend an eternity paying for all of our sins in hell because we violated God's law and we never kept it perfectly in word, thought and deed. But thanks to the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are now God's children forever and heaven is our home. Ephesians 4:1-5 says that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world and He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ in accordance with His pleasure and will.
You Are Free Indeed
Your confidence should come from Christ alone because if you read Romans chapter 6 in particular, you will see that because you placed your faith alone in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone for salvation, sin no longer has power over you and you can say to yourself “I'm dead to sin. Sin cannot control my life anymore. Through Christ I'm free from sin's eternal bondage. I can choose to walk away from habitual sin because the Holy Spirit lives inside of and empowers me.”
You Have Peace, Joy and Contentment
Other riches that you have in Christ include peace, joy and contentment that will get you through any situation. You don't have pay for a psychologist to help you get confidence and happiness because the Holy Spirit provides these for you at no cost. It doesn't cost you money to go before God in prayer and thank Him for your salvation or to dwell on His holiness, justice, omnipotence, omniscience and mercy.
