To the Children of Men

To the Children of Men

Aug5 by justhappeneduponthis

Psalm 107 is all about the diverse deliverances given by our God. Out of hunger. Sickness. Imprisonment. Wanderings. Loneliness. Natural disaster. Oppression. Drought.

One refrain is noticeable throughout this rather long Psalm:
Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

We must see that our God is good, but almost more importantly, good to our small, vulnerable children. This seems to strike the chords of every heart. What about the children? Afghanistan. Syria. First Nations reserves. Local hospitals. Local schools.

It will be difficult for us to evaluate any community without consideration of the state of the kids. Dare I add the state of the unborn?

Go to the darkest of prisons. Observe the pecking order of the inmates. Realize that unquestionably the child abuser will hold the lowest rung.

But wonder of wonders! The child-like and child-serving heart of Jesus can be imparted unto the darkest rogue by the power of Redemption.
