I'll admit, social media can be a curse lol. It can suck the time right out of your life while you slowly age and let life pass you by.
For accountability purposes, I'll try and limit my time to how often I browse social media.
Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram: check only once at the end of day instead of checking constantly throughout the day. Would be great to be able to check FB once a WEEK, but ..baby steps.
To compensate for all that time I used to spend on social media sites, I can:
spend more time with God-pray, read, reflect, sing, journal, serve others
learn that new language I've always wanted to be fluent in
walk outside the neighbourhood
have more time to cook
clean my room and any other rooms that need cleaning
clean out my closet of clothes I haven't worn/don't fit in years/no longer interested in wearing
Spend time with friends-hangout, movies, eat out
exercise more
volunteer (soup kitchen, animal rescues/shelters, nursing home companionship, Salvation Army)- this is something I've always wanted to do. Serving others is a great way to find fulfillment. It doesn't even have to be by volunteering at an organization, it can simply be volunteering to help around the house, pay for bills, clean rooms, etc.
These are all practical/do-able things I can do. Nothing extravagant or unachieveable
Simple, yet productive, ways to compensate my time and live life instead of letting it pass by.
