"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7 AMPC)
God, because of what He intends to achieve in the world, made crucial provisions for our journey in life. He gave us His Spirit that will rule over our spirits, instructing and guiding us on the path of holiness and love.
The Holy Spirit will also empower us to love one another and even our enemies.
The divine love has being inputted into us at new birth. We now have the ability to love everyone with God's love. This same love also constraint us to help others find the truth and live their lives in agreement with God's principles. The love of God must continually motivate us to warn people of the danger of hell. Hell is the worst thing that can ever happen to anyone!
More so, at new birth He bestowed on us a calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. Actually, at Calvary the mind of Christ was part of the package we received. The mind of Christ is not perturbed with challenges around. It is subjected to leadership of the Holy Spirit. Therefore it can afford to be calm and collected, functioning properly while handling issues of life. It also has the ability to refrain from going overboard with anything.
ACTION PLAN: If fear has been the dominant factor in our lives, it is time to ask God for His Spirit. The Spirit of God will wrought the miracle of power, love and sound mind in us.
PRAYER: Father, I request that you do a deep work in my life and correct my foundation which has been affected by fear rather than faith.
