I find coming here reminds me of the necessity to take breaks.
There's something that permeates the air when I come here, it makes me more irritable almost immediately. I notice at churches, a different sin would emanate within me from attending that wasn't there before, each one has a different flavor in terms of godliness and sin.
This kind of reminds me of the passage that says the lamp of the wicked is sin, so if I applied that "light" quality to the prism of the human heart .. it makes sense if each collective becomes as its own organism.
The light of this place is an illustration of how the different groups in the faith can at least have dialogue and learn from one another. Certainly worth a little infusion of anger management issues from time to time.
As I take breaks and come back, I find my resistance to the negative parts eventually gets better. Maybe someday I'll be mature enough to withstand the toxicity without negative side effects.
