“So we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw on the way to the mountains of the Amorites, as the Lord our God had commanded us. Then we came to Kadesh Barnea." (Deuteronomy 1:19 NKJV)
Every life that must become useful in God's hands and fulfill His purpose, must pass through wildernesses. A wilderness is a vast wasteland where there is neither water nor foods. It is a place that is full of feary serpents and scorpions. God deliberately bring us through the wilderness in order to build Jesus' character in us. The life of Christ, as wonderful as it is, cannot be achieved in a Bible study class. God must allow us to pass through real life situations that will refine us and build us up in Him.
He will continually bring us into a place of desperation,where we need to cry to Him for help.
ACTION PLAN: Let us not resist or make alternative arrangements to the wilderness experiences organised by God.
PRAYER: Lord grant me grace to go through the wildernesses of this life without losing heart.
