There are many who would like to eradicate this telling scripture from the Bible by saying that is was not found in the oldest text available of the Bible. They are referring to the Sianaticus text found in the trash. It was incomplete. In fact, it leaves the Gospel of Mark ending where the disciples were in hiding and fear! This is NOT the end of the Gospel of Mark. Many other passages were missing and it was rightly discarded.
