The Commitment to waiting for Gods time.
When I was single I found my self at times nearly going crazy with waiting. The enemy would attack and say “ Why are you doing this? What the point, you are nearly 50 and still haven't even held a woman in your arms with mutual meaning. You have not even had sexual love.
This can make you feel really low and think why am I doing this what's the point, why don't I just give up and date any half descent woman and enjoy sex like everyone else?
Then the thought would come to my mind, what would be the point of enduring all this for 26 years just to throw it all away on a cheap second best relationship and even if the sexual love and companionship was good the Lord would not be with me I could not enjoy His peace and presence. That's the most important part.
No I decided to commit to waiting and always knowing that it would be worth it and He would give me His best.
The Lord was under pressure after fasting 40 days He was so hungry. He could have said why am I doing this what's the point?
But His point was to be pleasing the Father and in His will. He knew the words “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the Father”
In other words whilst these things are important to us, being in Gods will was more important. Seek first His kingdom and then the other things will be added to you.
The Lord blest me in the end with his best. I married a young woman, beautiful loving caring affectionate loyal devoted to God and me, reliable resourceful, wise intelligent, a woman who never argues or raises her to me, what more could I ask for? She was and is Gods best and reward for waiting for so long and enduring so much.
So be encouraged the same will be your reward.
