We sure live in busy times! Or in the fast lane I should say? Everything moves so fast. If it's not moving fast for you then you are not old enough yet to notice it 
Or you are great at multitasking
If you don't believe it, try getting out on the road and drive slow and see how many honks you get from others wanting you to hurry a long. Of course I am not saying that everyone should drive slow, although, some sure should if they are going over the spend limit But my point is most everyone is always in a hurry. Some have to. Jobs demand it, school demands it, doctor appointments, and most anything else does.
Does your fast lane go too fast to stop and see a elderly person walking to the store that no longer has or can drive a car? No time to slow down gotta move on.
Or maybe your fast lane passes by a friend's house you haven't visited in ages and not sure if they are struggling and need a word of encouragement?
Oh, there is more fast lanes but think you get the idea. I am not talking about anyone on this board as I don't know anyone here personally so that makes this a really good place for me to vent LOL I am also not talking about the few wonderful ladies that does help support others in our group but all those that always have a reason for not getting out of the fast lane long enough to offer a kind word to someone that needs it.
I must be some kind of weirdo as I have always taken time for others. Before getting so many physical problems and when I was younger I would visit the elderly, friends in the hospital, help out with kids without charging, gifts to kids when their parents were struggling, even loans to others that never paid us back even though they would brag about their incomes when it got much higher than ours is! Always something more important they needed to do with their money!
Now, I am mostly home bound due to physical problems but I still wanted/want to help others. Not sure why after all these years when I see so many that don't care these days about anyone else other than their own self. Especially so many Republicans! Just had to throw that in since so many of them don't care about pleasing anyone other than their highest money donors! That can also be said of many Democrats, too, but just seems like it's the over all thinking of Republicans because somehow that is the Christian way? Not in my opinion. Well, didn't mean to go off into politics. I don't think all the good morals in the world mean anything if we leave seniors and veterans to fend for their self, Or back up a party that would! You would think those that are religious would think about the rich man that wouldn't sell all he had and give to the poor and other Bible verses.
I rarely have religious discussions anymore. I leave them for others on boards like this one or in Christian Chat Rooms. I find it much more peaceful to just show I care about others and hope I find a few along the way that will do the same for me After all that is what friendship is caring about each other and sharing our tears, joys, and sorrows, true friendship that is! And at this time in my life I am not even sure anymore how I feel about Christianity, God, religious issues. I never want to knock a person that believes them and always respect them (hoping they can respect me back) but I will leave it to others to agree with them, or not. If they believe in issues I don't or the other way around then sometimes I jump in LOL
I belong to a very small support group for ladies. We never had many even with kind and gently support given to each other in friendship only! Listening to each other problems and actually caring about them. Mixing a lot of clean fun in as we all need that to help with stress trying to cope with it all. I don't think I would had survived all I have gone through without real friends and clean humor. NO, doesn't take away problems just helps to forget them even if for only one brief moment. I will take whatever relief I can get LOL
So you would think there would be a lot of other ladies around to help a group like that? NOT. Everyone is too busy passing by in the fast lane OR they don't like a clean place free of bad language and free of offensive pics! I know because it's what many tell me. And there are some women that don't want to help since it's just women. Nothing against men! I have one LOL but it has kept peace with my hubby as well as helps make single ladies feel better knowing our group is not for picking up a date LOL AND it gives us a place to discuss women disabilities or health problems the we feel more comfortable discussing just with other women.
I am NOT talking about in open forums such as this one where individuals can support both men and women and where everyone can share any information that helps. But in private messages, emails, chat rooms, that is where I agreed with my husband many years ago that it would be in open forums if I replied to or made comments with both men and women. We had some really good friends years ago that broke up because of something that started so innocent on the Internet. And sometimes things can really be innocent but get misinterpreted when married people mix with the opposite sex in private.
The ladies in our support group also wanted a place where they could take their kids and not have to worry about bad language, offensive pics, and could have some clean fun with their kids, too. But when there is only a few ladies and so many don't have time OR don't want a clean place for support then I wonder why I keep caring about having one? Maybe if I was well enough to be in that fast lane, too LOL, then I would just give it up.
I do know this; I rather have one caring, honest, trustworthy friend than a hundred that not only doesn't have time to give support but also doesn't care about helping others
I do welcome private messages from ladies. By the way I am totally straight! I care about what ladies go through but it's in friendship only
