This subject is near to my heart because after working with a member of the cult group "The Way" back in the 80s (having gone to some of their meetings), I was confused to the real nature of Jesus. Their arguments seemed pretty strong (being ignorant of the scriptures). If you have out with people who suffer from deceiving spirits, you partake of their oppression.
This goes for everyone you fellowship with. You get "ministered" to by spirits! I was searching in my Bible one night and ran into the "Emmanuel" scripture in Matthew and was set free and born again! I didn't even know what happened, but I knew I was free!
Later than evening while reading a book on the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I realized this would enable what He showed me when I was 14), I was filled with the Holy Spirit and started "babbling" (sounded like a baby talking). I was praying in the Spirit!
I have taken an interest in cults, their doctrines, and most of all -- What the truth is! Let's find it, continue in it, and be free indeed! No more yoke of bondage!
Let's go into God's holy Word and see how the personality of God is revealed in 3 separate beings, who are "One". They are eternal, all present, all knowing, etc. They created the world, raised Christ from the dead, indwell the believer, speak through the believer, and share the same attributes of the other.
God (as we think of the Father) is unique as anyone ever gets and no one compares to Him. Yes Jesus and the Holy Spirit do exactly that in every way that counts. That would be considered blasphemous in Jesus' day, and if it were not true, God would have a problem with it! We'll let the Word do the talking.
Some of the cults have undertaken a re-write of the Bible. As soon as they find out more scriptures that point to the Trinity, they "rightly divide" the scriptures to see otherwise. They are not done yet because it is all over the Word.
