We are paid for our efficiency. But don't you get the feeling sometimes, that work is closer to frenzy than sanity?
I feel controlled by the clock. "I must get this done by 10.00am. I must get this done by 11.00am" Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines. Oh and your boss reminds you of how important the next project is, and that it simply "must" be finished on time. After a while you see a pattern. Maybe bossman is just bluffing us, so we work harder.
Sometimes I just like some one to slow right down, especially if I am learning a new task. I don't learn well under pressure of time anyway.
I equate sanity with slow tempo. I mean if we pray to God quickly, that's hardly respectful is it. And working is the same isnt it?
