According to my wall calendar this is Apple Dumpling Day. 
Now I've never had an apple dumpling. Dumplings in general have been a food that I never could quite stomach. My mother use to make them when I was little and I can remember gagging on them. She'd make me eat them and to this day I cannot make myself eat a dumpling.
However, looking at this recipe tells me that Apple Dumplings are a totally different thing. I may try and make these some day
